Does Your Environment Affect Your Mood?

Ever woken up in a disorganized room before and noticed how messy your day became?

From searching for one item to another until you are late, haha I can relate to this because I did this when I was way younger, I never knew the importance of being organized until I moved into the university and had to live in a hostel with others.

If you don't keep your things organized it either get stolen or missing and it is too expensive to replace an item over and over again.

Thank God I am grown now and see the importance of living in an organised environment and not just your personal space.

I realized that keeping your room and environment neat is less expensive than I imagined, one wouldn't have to deal with replacing an item over and over again and being a minimalist means living a simple but healthy and organized lifestyle.

One wouldn't have to take extra time searching for a particular item, searching for an item, especially in a dire moment can demoralize a person for the day and increase stress level which in turn might make the person fall sick all the time, but when one is neat and organized, it increases a healthy mood for the day.

To stay happy, I ensure that every item has its place, I know where to find whatever I want even with my eyes closed, that's how organized my space is.

How does your environment change your mood, and in what ways has this shaped your minimalist practices?

It's no news that our environment plays a vital role in our mood, which is why I have also taken my time to decorate my space with beautiful wall features and proper lighting.

I realized that colours also play a vital role in our mood which is why my room is painted in blue as blue means love to me and also brings about peace to my soul and agility to my mind.

My surroundings are decorated with beautiful flowers of different species and this lifts my mood for the day, I ensure to clean my surroundings every day, as a neat environment is tantamount to a happy mind.

My room is also decorated with beautiful artwork and pictures which brings fond memories back to life, I believe as a minimalist, I do not need to do too much to stay happy, just a little or something simple but in a very unique and creative way.

After cleaning my room every day, I ensure to spray a sweet-smelling air freshener to impart an aroma in my personal space which also boosts my mood.

I ensure I spend most of my leisure time at the beach, as the beach is my go-to place, a simple place that makes me happy, seeing the waves of the sea, and the beautiful sky and enjoying nature at large.

As a minimalist, I love to enjoy serenity which is why I am never present in a lousy or chaotic environment and in situations I can't help it, I just slam in my music via my Airpod and enjoy soothing music while shutting the world out.

All of this practice has helped me live a meaningful and productive life.

Great read about being organised while taking care of environment. It's the least we can do at times and I resonate more with tuning into the calming nature of the seaside.

Environment creates an impact on human mood and it's natural. A beautiful, quiet, and calm environment helps us to keep our mood good and it's true in the opposite situation.
