(Estrofa I)

(Estribillo)
Aún siento tu aroma, tu dulce presencia,

(Estrofa II)
Diecisiete años ya de tu partida,
el duelo me habita y no quiere ceder,
la cruel leucemia te robó la vida,
y ató mis anhelos de verte crecer.

(Estrofa III)
Pero la vida me trajo consuelo,
la inmensa alegría de un nuevo querer,
pues Matthew sonríe quitándome el velo,
Sofía, en mi hijo, te veo renacer.

(Estribillo)
Aún siento tu aroma, tu dulce presencia,

To participate in the monthly initiative by @es-literatos, "Write them a song", I present the following composition using the technique of lyrical poetry. It is structured with a careful meter and an AABB rhyme scheme, giving it the musicality of a traditional British ballad (comprising verses and a repeating chorus). The motive for this song stems from the deepest fiber of my soul: it is dedicated to my daughter Sofía, who departed from this world shortly after turning eleven due to leukaemia. It is the outpouring of a father who, with his hands tied when the miracle of a cure never came, had to say goodbye to his sweet "Milk Bread". However, it is also a song of hope; for today, seventeen years later, although the mourning still lingers, Sofía's essence, her scent, and her touch endure, being reborn every day through the joy brought from my beloved son Matthew.

(Verse I)
Eleven short years of deep sorrow and love,
My hands firmly tied, with no cure from above.
The frantic wild rush while the curtain was drawn,
The silent sad tears and the bitterest thorn.

(Chorus)
I still catch your scent, your sweet presence so near,
The brush on my cheek and your hands I hold dear.
Farewell, my "Milk Bread", how I grieve for your loss,
My brave little girl who has carried her cross.

(Verse II)
It's seventeen years since you drifted away,
The sorrow still dwells and refuses to stray.
Leukaemia cruelly took you from my sight,
And bound all my dreams of you growing up bright.

(Verse III)
Yet life brought a comfort to quiet the storm,
The boundless delight of a love sweet and warm.
For Matthew smiles brightly, uncovering the dawn,
In him, my Sofía, I see you reborn.

(Chorus)
I still catch your scent, your sweet presence so near,
The brush on my cheek and your hands I hold dear.
Farewell, my "Milk Bread", how I grieve for your loss,
My brave little girl who has carried her cross.

Saludos @amigoponc
