— ¿Qué me dices Marylola?
No entendà tu parloteo
— Que desapareció la casa de Lila
y en su lugar ulula un rÃo.

— ¿Qué en su paraje un rÃo ulula?
— ¡Qué mal hablas mujer!,
los búhos son lo que ululan,
lamentos en el amanecer.
— Qué chistoso eres
¿No escuchas el agua correr?
Asómate a la ventana, ves.
Agua corriente no mata a la gente.
De escarola y agua bendita,
cada uno toma la que necesita.
El agua hervida alarga la vida.
Agua de manantial, no hay otra igual.
— Es un desastre mujer…
¿Es que no lo ves?
Ni agua ni charcos,
es la vaguada que todo la arrasa.
La gente se va rÃo abajo,
el viento sopla en su contra.
Quizá no les volvamos a ver
Ya que odisea es difuso.

Preamble
Dear English-speaking virtual friends, I apologise in advance because I am aware that a poem translated from Spanish into English loses its meaning, rhythm and metrical structure. I used the online tool DeepL Pro and gave it a personal touch according to my knowledge of the English language, but I could not construct the corresponding rhymes.

— What do you say, Marylola?
I didn't understand your chatter
— That Lila's house is gone
and in its place, a river howls.

— That in its place a river howls?
— How badly you speak, woman,
owls are what hoot,
wailing in the dawn.
— How funny you are
Can't you hear the water running?
Look out the window, see.
Running water doesn't kill people.
Of endive and holy water,
everyone takes what he needs.
Boiled water prolongs life.
Spring water, there's no other like it.
— It's a disaster woman…
Can't you see?
Neither water nor puddles,
it's the trough that sweeps everything away.
People are going downstream,
the wind blows against them.
Maybe we won't see them again
For Odyssey is fuzzy.

Water is life, but ironically evil, destructive and annihilating of life, it does so much good and so much evil at the same time, a dualism, a liquid ying and yang.
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.
