Wandering Krong Kampot Cambodia, to a Pepper Plantation...pepper vine.

Time to wander around the town of Krong Kampot and as I do I take some pictures along the way. Nothing specific today just some wanderings to a pepper plantation and some flowers and sights around town.

As I ride along I see people stacked on products on top of mopeds on top of roads all along the open ways to go.

I drop back for another look.

Up beside them I watch as they scoot along the road with their load.

As they fade away behind me I more on towards the next stop along the road that I do not know where that is but I will know when I see it.

Stopping along the way to see the view.

Odd tiles of earth here. Like rocks but made of dirt that is really hard to move. I wonder what this is? Do you know? have any ideas?

• Well time to roll on.

I come across a pepper plantation and notice a bike of a fellow resort habitant and we catch eyes. I ride over and hear taht she is going to a pepper plantation and invites me to come along.
We get the grand tour and are learning a lot about pepper and how there is only one kind of pepper that makes Black Red White and Green pepper. It is the stages of maturity that makes the colour change.

Here is the pepper vines that are claiming a post that is set into the ground for the vine to climb up. Sometimes trees are used but the tree end up getting choked out and dying so various structures are used for the climbing vine pepper plant.

Notice the canopy that is used to shield the jovial vines while the buds grow.

Here is an up-close at a pepper pod as it is maturing. Notice the green unripe pods and the red being the first colour to form on the pepper plant pods.

I was quite distracted by the tour that I forgot to take more pictures of the landscape and what was shown as we wandered the fields.

The evening ends as I wander to the water and have s top for some food and a moment to rest and rethink about the day that has go on.
