Greetings Summoners! Welcome to Battle Mage Secrets. The Battle Mage Secrets is a challenge where every week players must test their strategic skills in battle for specific rules. This week the specific rule is "Explosive Weaponry".

  • All monsters receive the Blast ability at the start of the battle.

  • Blast does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target monster.

  • Additional damage is equivalent to main damage divided by 2, rounded up.

This battle was played in Brawl with a novice fray limit. Therefore, we were only able to play level 1 cards.

Strategy & Tips

  • To benefit as much as possible from the Explosive Weaponry, we will try to use as many monsters as possible.

  • Monsters with high speed are important. If we manage to kill an enemy monster before our opponent does, we will have a great advantage in the battle.

  • Monsters with high HP are important too.

  • Lining up monsters in ascending order of their health is a good idea.

  • Another important part of our strategy will be to use a magic damage composition. Does magic damage is very important. Monsters with magic attack may do damage from any row, since this form of attack ignores the defender’s Armor STAT (damage is applied directly to health). Unless there is a monster with Phase on the enemy's team, magic attack will always hit. There is no miss chance.

My Lineup

Some time ago, Daria Dragonscale nearly lost her twin brother Delwyn to the Burn that had stricken so many of the scaled. She would have lost him completely, but at his deathbed she hired the services of a dark sorcerer who transferred his soul into a special Heliosoulstone. While he was suspended inside the stone, Daria traveled to the Earth Splinter, where she visited the Flesh Golems in the root of the Elder Tree. With their help, she created a new Golem from fleshy scraps. Delwyn’s soul was transferred into the new Golem, and Daria had her brother back… forever.

Delwyn Dragonscale: I really like this summoner as it gives +1 magic attack to all friendly magic attack monsters and the possibility to combine our cards with other Splinters.

Void Dragon: Void Dragon is an amazing magic attack card that can be used as a tank due to its high Speed and high HP. Its "Void" ability reduces damage from Magic attacks. I love this dragon because it is good against everything (melee, ranged and magic attacks).

Prismatic Energy: Another amazing magic attack card that in combination with our Summoner will have +1 additional magic attack. This card is Neutral, so we can use it with all elements. Also, his ability Magic Reflect is very powerful. When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker.

Quora Towershead: In my opinion one of the strongest cards in the game. It is a very complete and versatile card. She has incredible stats. She restores a portion of the Monster's health each round and every time she defeats an opponent, she gets +1 to all stats. She is unstoppable.

Goblin Psychic: This card will help us to keep our tank alive as long as possible thanks to its Tank Heal ability, which restores a portion of the monster in the first position's health each round.

Mushroom Seer: I saw that my opponent used a lot of magic attack compositions in his last games, so I decided to use this card that reduces the magic attack of all enemy monsters by -1.

Regal Peryton: This card is incredibly fast. The high speed is very important as it allows us to attack first and dodge melee and ranged attacks.

I think my strategy worked well. We have been able to successfully counter the opponent's strategy and win the battle. No allied monsters were killed in the battle. We've cleverly used the 45 mana cap to make a pretty good team. I think the positioning of our monsters was very important to spread the damage from the "Explosive Weaponry" rule. I am happy with the result and the strategy I used.

Personally I like the "Explosive Weaponry" rule, but we must be careful with the positioning of our monsters. Include a unit with Reflection Shield in your lineup to absorb blast damage and protect your back line could be a great idea.
