Hello everyone and welcome to the Battle Weekly Challenge. This week the challenge is with Dax Paragon, an epic Life element card with no abilities at level 1 that belongs to the Chaos Legion edition.

The battle that we are going to see in this challenge was played in a Splinterlands tournament, where only the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers editions were allowed to play. It was in the "Summoners' Novice Beginner Training" tournament, so only level 1 cards were allowed. Let's see the rules, the team and the details of the battle.

Battle Rules

This is a 20 mana battle with 3 battle rules (Little League, Holy Protection and Lost Legendaries). All elements except Fire, Water and Death are allowed to play.

IconNameDescription
Little LeagueOnly Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.
Holy ProtectionAll Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.
Lost LegendariesLegendary Monsters may not be used in battles.
  • The trick to win in this ruleset is to fill all 6 slots.

My Lineup

Pledged into service by the Silver Shield, Ilthain was a warrior trained in the martial arts. She spent her days working in communities and helping those less fortunate. At night, however, she acted on behalf of the Silver Shield to rid the land of the corrupt, using her unique abilities to bring peace to Khymeria by purging it of its lawless rebels. She became so well known among the people that when she passed on, thousands of mourners followed her body as it was carried to the Peace of Light Monastery and entombed within a great mausoleum. Following a great number of supplications from the people, Ilthain was eventually named a saint on the first anniversary of her death. There was much rejoicing. Every year, celebrations were held to honor and remember her deeds.

Ilthain: I really like this Summoner as it gives +1 Speed to all friendly monsters and the "Return Fire" ability at the start of the battle. When hit with a Ranged attack, Monsters with Return Fire will return reduced damage back to their attacker.

Xenith Monk: This card is a perfect tank for only 4 Mana that fits perfectly with the "Little League" battle rule, where only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used.

Gargoya Scrapper: For only 1 Mana we will have a second tank with the "Divine Shield" ability thanks to the "Holy Protection" rule.

Dax Paragon: There aren't many magic cards for only 2 Mana and Dax Paragon is one of them! For only 2 Mana he has 1 Magic attack, 2 Speed and 3 HP which is pretty cool. Using low mana cards will allow us to use more monsters in this battle.

Time Mage: This card is very useful especially in low mana battles. Its "Slow" ability reduces the Speed of all enemy monsters allowing our monsters to attack first and have less chance to miss.

Celestial Harpy: I think this card is very good as it can attack from any position and target the enemy monster with the lowest HP.

Stitch Leech: This card can target the last monster on the enemy team with his Sneak ability. The objective with Stitch Leech is to kill enemy monsters with low HP that players usually use in the last position.

Do you like Dax Paragon?

Yes! I like Dax Paragon. Personally it is a card that I use a lot. Does magic damage is very important to avoid opponent's heavily armored monsters. Monsters with magic attack may do damage from any row, since this form of attack ignores the defender’s Armor STAT (damage is applied directly to health). Unless there is a monster with Phase on the enemy's team, magic attack will always hit. There is no miss chance.
