Estetek (Aesthetic) Night Out

avatar

It was that time of the month to go to a bar with yo gurrrlllsss.

Me and @hiddenblade 's friend, (let's name her Fernanda. Lol), went to this new fancy bar in Downtown Davao City. Fernanda wasn't in the bar yet cause she has to attend to some wedding so we both went in first.

And boy did we enjoyed the night.

Wanna know why? Aside from the bar be looking ✨aesthetically✨ instagrammable worthy place, the bar serves drinks with smoke.

Yes, smoke.

Smoke from dry ice or smoke from burnt herbs.

AND FCK WAS IT ENTERTAINING AND COOL TO WATCH.

Bars in Davao City, especially those owned by Filipinos, typically serve ordinary drinks like the usual cocktails, the usual hard liquors.. and that's just it. There's nothing more to it. The lights and the deafening music of the DJ are the main ones who will entertain you throughout your night.

But this place offers more than that shit.

It's a bar and a restaurant at the same time. We for once know that the owner of this gastropub is clearly not Filipino, (considering its interior are so not the typical Filipino themed bar) but we do not know what nationality they are. I've read one post on Facebook saying that they have a Dutch Chef named Chef Henny. And the food he be makin' in that post looks incredibly delish. (we didn't ordered at that time though since we went there for the drinks only).

Hear ye, hear ye for some Medieval Shit

Yep. They got knights and swords displayed on the pub. The pub isn't even enclosed, its more like, an open pub since it is located on the second floor of some building and there are no windows present. So its basically "open". Which is good since the night air is cool and windy. But the pub still has fans and aircons to provide.

Going back, the pub is medieval themed so fucking Sir Lancelot and Sir Arthur are on display along with some beers, wines and cocktails. Woohoo!

@hiddenblade taught me to lower the brightness so the neon signage could be seen better

Well, I haven't photographed the tin can knights since I was too immersed with my drink, but you can see on the first pic that there is a sword and shield.

(PS. Don't ask me why a motorcycle is in the display because I don't even know shit why it's there.)

They have two bar counters. This one is I think the main one since its the longest than the one we are currently sitting in.

Look at that awesome lighting.

photo1682872791 (4).jpeg
This is the back entrance I think since Fernanda and her boyfriend went through here. (They both travelled on a motorcycle). There is no parking in the front, well mostly you can't park in the front because its a busy road and vehicles such as private cars and commute jeepneys goes through. So if you have a vehicle, I think it's best to go through here. But if you're just a walk-in, you can go directly through the front entrance.

photo1682872791 (3).jpeg
They have a third bar counter I think which comprises of wines and wine glass. They also have a semi enclosed tables where you can be semi-private with your friends or...hoes. 🤷‍♀

I ain't tipsy here. And that flower was a part of my drink. LOL

A little selfie from us having a good time there. ❤️

photo1682872791 (2).jpeg
This is, I think the beer counter where different kind of beers are being served through a pipe and is pulled by a lever, like how the olden times would serve their beer.

photo1682872791.jpeg
They have a separate lever for Heineken located behind that whiteboard. I decreased the brightness so you can read (hopefully you can) what's written on the whiteboard.

This is the first drink I ordered named Queen's Breath. The drink comprises of Gin, Hibiscus Honey and Lemon. I asked the bartender what drink is a little bit sweeter and he politely recommended me this and told me it was a ladies choice of drink. It was sweet! And it tasted absolutely divine.

Both the bartenders and the other employees of the pub were so nice and easy to talk with. They'll accommodate you professionally and kindly.

To end the night, I ordered one of their wine which costs $10 per glass. The other wines were sold as bottles, but since I was a broke ass mthrfckr, I only went with the glass. 😌

photo1682927112 (1).jpeg

My choice of wine was named 1818 Cabernet Sauvignon. As a weak ass wine drinker it doesn't taste good on my tongue but I bet if real wine drinkers would taste it, they would appreciate its flavor.

photo1682927112.jpeg

This is Fernanda's drink. (and that's her boyfriend on the background). I think her drink's name was Smoke on Camelot. It comprises of Bourbon, Banana Kaffir Syrup, Lemon and Bitters. The drink was finished off with a smoke from torching rosemary inside a glass. (Watch video down below). Fernanda didn't liked the taste of the drink but it was fun to look at though! hahahaa It's like we went for a drink there just for the aesthetics. LOL 🤣

photo1682880374.jpeg

This is @hiddenblade 's choice of drink named Herbs for the Knight. The drink comprises of Gin, Pomelo, Basil, Aloe and Lemon. Her drink has a dried up slice of orange and was finished off with an herb infused in dried rice. (I'll be showing a video below so you can see) And look at that riiiiing <3

If you want to see more of their cocktail drinks, here is their menu of it. But if you want to see all of their menu from their restaurant down to their bar, here's the complete list.

What kind of fucking smoking sorcery is this?!

As you all know, pubs serving drinks like this are not usually served on typical Filipino bars especially here in Davao City. I think The William are the first one to serve cool ass drinks like these. Not to mention that the drinks are luxurious and fancy as well. So being able to witness this internationally made drinks, it is truly a wonderful first time experience. Our curiosity and amazement were all over the place. Here is a video clip of those smoky drinks we ordered:

Inside that little tea pot was dried ice and herbs. I forgot what herb was that but that was to make the drink smell good I think? And the last one is where the kind bartender torched a rosemary herb and burned it so the smoke would go over the drink, for it to smell good too I think? hahaha

So this is where our night ends. It was fun and we all had a hearty laugh! The music was enough to make us chillax and dance to it! The DJ was giving good songs. We are hoping to do a breather like this sometimes all complete with all of our boyfriends as well! 😁 If you should come to Davao City and in need of a good ass gastropub, come at The Williams and hit me and @hiddenblade up! 😁 See you! Thank you for reading!
