A book that exceeded my expectations -"It Ends with Us" by Colin Hoover It Ends with Us.

Hello everyone, this is my second post in the book lovers community. Nice to join you again and share a review of a really good book.

And today we will talk about the very famous story of an equally famous writer - Colin Hoover "It Ends with Us". I want to say so much about this book that I'm afraid I'll forget something.

(I just now noticed how unhappy I look in the photo. All I can say: studying at the university is the sponsor of my lack of sleep).
But let's return to the book.

What is the book about?

At the beginning of the story, we meet Lily Bloom - a young girl who, after her father's funeral, begins to remember her childhood, family and first love. Immediately, at the beginning of the book, she meets a boy named Riley, and in fact, from the first meeting, a love line is established between them. What's more, good, because you really feel the chemistry between the characters. In parallel with this, Lily finds old diaries from her teenage years, where she described everything that happens to her. Memories of her first love, Atlas, were imprinted in these diaries. This is the plot twist. As you might have noticed, I can't describe the plot of books at all, although I remember them quite well. But what is important, as far as I'm concerned, are the thoughts you took away from this book and the overall satisfaction factor of the story.

At first I thought it was just an interesting love story, because I didn't read the synopsis before picking up the book. And in general, it was an acquaintance with the author "blindly". Well, I couldn't get through the novel of the writer, about whom everyone goes crazy. So, given the light and pleasant language, I thought that the book would be like that too. Yes, the main character's difficult memories from childhood, but as a background... But everything turned out not as I expected. Everything was a hundred times cooler.

This is not another girl's novel. This is a story that deals with domestic violence, victimhood and choice. And I know that the leading vein of this novel is precisely the theme of the difficult choice that a person makes, and the victim of violence in particular. Personally, I thought about many things that I did not attach importance to before. It is always easy to judge someone else in whose situation you have not been, but it is much more difficult to put yourself in another person's shoes. I came to these thoughts while reading this book.

In general, while reading "It Ends with Us" a very large number of different thoughts and feelings swarmed in my head: from romantic and cheerful to bitterly aware. And that's absolutely fine. Not every author can evoke such a range of feelings. However, Colin Hoover does. I am going to continue to get to know this beautiful author, because "It Ends with Us" has become one of my favorite books.

I want to leave a few quotes that I especially remembered from this story:

"The character of a person is not determined by his mistakes. It is important how we perceive these mistakes and whether we learn from them or find excuses"

"I think the best sign that a person has grown up is when they are able to appreciate what is important to others, but not important to them."
