I think we all have wondered how would it be at a different time? Perhaps a few decades before or several centuries. How our life would be if we couldn't use the electric energy, use the internet or even drive a car. In this post, I propose to answer the second question of the 81st Ladies of Hive Contest: Do you ever wish for simpler times, or do you prefer the modern 'techy' world of today? Which would you choose to live by, and why

The short answer is: I prefer to live in a techy world, as simple as it sounds. Even when I spent most of the day without electric energy (Venezuelan problems) living in the techy modern days is way simpler and easier, even when it comes with its cons. When I think of this time I don't refer only to what we normally see think of as "tech" such as watching TV or using a smartphone because it goes far beyond. For example, these days with a scan we can tell if someone has a mase in their head, or, with a little pinch we can tell if someone's sugar it's low or high and we can fix that, we can also operate tiny áreas that human hands wouldn't be able to reach with the help of robots. We can prevent awful disease as smallpox by having an injection and all that thanks to science and technology.

On the other hand, technology has brought something amazing to us: knowledge. Not that we didn't have access before but with a computer or a smartphone we have access to the biggest "library" in the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the human story and I find that simply amazing. As the extremely curious human I am, one of the most extraordinary things for me is being able to search anything about everything and have the information in hand within seconds.

I also find amazing the fact that over this script I'm connecting with women all over the globe, that over this platform we get to know people from countries that I never imagine I'll get to know and I learn about their religions, customs, feelings, among others things. Even the fact that people can fall in love over an app or that I'm able to buy something from a place 15.000KM from my home from my couch, the fact that I can take a picture of what I'm eating and send it to my cousin in Calgary are still incredible to me. The connections we have developed over technology to this day amaze me.

Creo que todos nos hemos preguntado cómo sería en otra época. Quizás unas décadas atras o incluso varios siglos. Cómo sería nuestra vida si no pudiéramos utilizar la energía eléctrica, usar internet o incluso conducir un coche. En este post, me propongo responder a la segunda pregunta del 81º Concurso de Ladies of Hive: ¿Deseas alguna vez tiempos más sencillos o prefieres el moderno mundo "tecnológico" de hoy? ¿Qué elegirías para vivir y por qué?

La respuesta corta es: prefiero vivir en un mundo techy, por muy simple que parezca. Incluso cuando pasé la mayor parte del día sin energía eléctrica (problemas venezolanos), vivir en el mundo moderno "techy" es mucho más sencillo y fácil, aunque tenga sus contras. Cuando pienso en esta época no me refiero sólo a lo que normalmente vemos como "tech" como ver la televisión o usar un smartphone porque va mucho más allá. Por ejemplo, hoy en día con un escáner podemos saber si alguien tiene un masa en la cabeza, o, con un pequeño pellizco podemos saber si el azúcar de alguien está bajo o alto y podemos solucionarlo, también podemos operar áreas diminutas a las que las manos humanas no podrían llegar con la ayuda de robots. Podemos prevenir enfermedades horribles como la viruela con una inyección y todo eso gracias a la ciencia y la tecnología.

Por otro lado, la tecnología nos ha aportado algo increíble: el conocimiento. No es que antes no tuviéramos acceso, sino que con un ordenador o un smartphone tenemos acceso a la mayor "biblioteca" de la historia humana, y eso me parece sencillamente increíble. Como humano extremadamente curioso que soy, una de las cosas más extraordinarias para mí es poder buscar cualquier cosa sobre todo y tener la información en la mano en cuestión de segundos.

También me parece increíble el hecho de que a través de este escrito me conecte con mujeres de todo el mundo, que a través de esta plataforma conozcamos a personas de países que nunca imaginé que llegaría a conocer y aprenda sobre sus religiones, costumbres, sentimientos, entre otras cosas. Incluso el hecho de que la gente se pueda enamorar a través de una aplicación o que yo pueda comprar algo de un lugar a 15.000KM de mi casa desde mi sofá, el hecho de que pueda tomar una foto de lo que estoy comiendo y enviársela a mi primo en Calgary instantáneamente siguen siendo increíbles para mí. Las conexiones que hemos desarrollado a través de la tecnología hasta el día de hoy me asombran.
