When I saw this game in the app store I was very excited, because The office is a series I really like and I thought it would have an interesting storyline: the running of the Dunder Mifflin branch office in Scranton with all our different characters each with the particularities of their area, i.e. sales, human resources, Pam at her desk and Michael being Michael.

The game goes by episodes and in each episode we are assigned a certain number of sales leads to get, as we progress through our chapters we unlock characters, we can also unlock characters with gift baskets. We start with Jim, then we unlock Dwight, then Stanley, we also unlock Pam and Angela in gifts. Jim, Dwight, Stanley and Angela work in sales, which I didn't like because Angela is in the accounting area, Pam doesn't do much, she only appears from time to time to add narrative to the story, the same happens with Michael, although he assigns us goals and gives us gifts. When we reach the end of our goal and before moving on to our next episode Michael makes us a "Boss challenge" through which we get "Scottcoins" coins that we can exchange for rewards.

The mechanics of the game did not seem good to me, it is based on undulating the leads button and the money generated from sales, although when you are managing several characters this requires a lot of attention, in the end it turns out to be quite boring, because there is no major difficulty in it beyond undulating the buttons. There's no tactics, you don't get lost, nothing else happens, if I go slow I'll reach my goal slower and if I go faster I'll reach it faster but there's no more substance to it than that.
What I really liked about the game is the aesthetics of the game, the caricatures reflect in cartoon what the actors transmit with their grimaces and are very well done, also the offices of Dunder Mifflin are very well done, for those who are fans of the series become almost nostalgic, another point in favor is that we are narrating part of the history of the Office: Jim makes jokes to Dwight, they show us the dynamics of Pam and Roy, the eccentricity of Michael and Dwight.

I feel that it is a game that could have a lot of potential that was not exploited to the fullest, not even 60%, it's just very nice to see, too bad. Hopefully they will make some changes for future updates. Here you have a little gameplay to give you an idea.

All the pictures in this post are screenshots i made from the Game. The collages were made using Incollage App

I've tried a few games like these but not this one. Looks like they're from the same developer whose just milking the genre. They give away some free stuff in the early game and lets you progress fast but then it all slows down to make you feel like you need to pay to continue progressing. Gameplay isn't much to talk about either as its all mostly automated. Like you said: boring.

It's a pity, because they could make a very nice game taking advantage of the narrative, the argumente and the fan base of the series
