¡Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive! Quiero comentarles que ya en menos de 2 semanas tendré mi título de licenciada en Comunicación Social. Mención: Audiovisual en la Universidad del Zulia. Y en este post les contare como se han ido desarrollando todos los preparativos
Déjenme decirles que no se lo que es más difícil, si entrar a LUZ o salir de ella. Teníamos más de un año esperando respuesta por cómo sería nuestro acto de grado. Que claro, por la situación pandemia todo eso se atrasó y de hecho los que se graduaron antes que nosotros recibieron su título por taquilla.
Nos decían que posiblemente sería para Diciembre o el año que viene, nos mantenían con esa incógnita.
Pero de un momento para otro nos dijeron que debíamos entregar en menos de una semana los papeles para realizar nuestros expedientes porque en octubre habría un acto y posiblemente nosotros entrabamos para ello. Así que había que correr.
Hello my dear friends at Hive! I want to tell you that in less than 2 weeks I will have my degree in Social Communication. Audiovisual at the University of Zulia. And in this post I will tell you how all the preparations have been going on.
Let me tell you that I do not know what is more difficult, whether to enter LUZ or leave it. We had more than a year waiting for an answer on how our graduation ceremony would be. Of course, because of the pandemic situation all that was delayed and in fact those who graduated before us received their degree at the box office.
We were told that it would possibly be in December or next year, they kept us with that unknown.
But from one moment to the next they told us that we had to deliver in less than a week the papers to make our records because in October there would be an event and possibly we were going in for it. So we had to run.
Desde tempranito tuve que agarrar una cola ese día, puesto que no tenia ni 1 bolívar (moneda nacional de Venezuela) para transportarme así que, situaciones desesperadas requerían medidas desesperadas. Afortunadamente logré llegar temprano y hasta pude sacar efectivo del banco. Que, otra de las cosas que hacían complicada la diligencia era que fue en la semana de reconversión donde 1 millón de bolívares pasaron a ser 1.0 bolívares digitales. Por suerte, tampoco se complicó tanto el recorrido, los transportistas aceptaban billetes nuevos y en algunos locales aún aceptaban transferencias en bolívares. Así que nuestra misión de ese día: entregar los papeles, fue todo un éxito.
Pero después nos llegaron con otra noticia: nuestro acto ya no sería en octubre debido a que nuestros expedientes se mandaron tarde y no entrabamos en esa tanda. Ahora nuestra graduación seria para diciembre, posiblemente. Bueno, eso era algo positivo. Nos permitía tener más tiempo para ahorrar.
Early in the morning I had to stand in line that day, since I didn't even have 1 bolivar (Venezuela's national currency) to transport myself, so desperate situations required desperate measures. Fortunately I managed to get there early and was even able to get cash from the bank. Another thing that made the process complicated was that it was during the week of the reconversion where 1 million bolivars became 1.0 digital bolivars. Luckily, the journey was not that complicated either, the carriers accepted new bills and in some stores they still accepted transfers in bolivars. So our mission that day: to deliver the papers, was a success.
But then we got another piece of news: our graduation ceremony would no longer be in October because our files were sent late and we were not included in that batch. Now our graduation would be for December, possibly. Well, that was a good thing. It gave us more time to save.
Así que me animé a hacer una recolecta con mi familia para comprar productos y realizar una rifa para cubrir todo lo que sería el costo del arancel y el paquete de grado porque definitivamente quería mi foto con la respectiva toga y birrete. Y gracias a Dios todo salió bien:
So I decided to make a collection with my family to buy products and make a raffle to cover the cost of the fee and the degree package because I definitely wanted my picture with the respective cap and gown. And thank God everything went well:
Con lo que llevaba recolectado conseguí comprar el paquete de la medalla, botón y portatítulo en menos de lo que ofertaban los otros paquetes. Y con lo que aún llevo recolectando, puesto que la rifa se cantará el 17 de este mes, constará del paquete de fotos junto a la toga y el birrete.
Ahora ¿se acuerdan que les dije que el acto de grado sería en diciembre? Notaron el posiblemente ¿no? Pues de un día para otro nos avisaron que en esa semana debíamos conseguir el dinero del arancel y llevarlo al rectorado porque nuestro acto sería para el 24 de noviembre y ya estábamos a principios de ese mes cuando nos lo anunciaron. Así que ahí te vamos con el corre corre de nuevo.
With what I had collected I was able to buy the medal, button and cap and gown package for less than what the other packages were offering. And with what I am still collecting, since the raffle will be sung on the 17th of this month, it will consist of the photo package along with the cap and gown.
Now remember I told you that the graduation ceremony would be in December? You noticed the possibly right? Well, from one day to the next they told us that we had to get the money for the fee and take it to the rector's office because our ceremony would be on November 24 and we were already at the beginning of that month when they announced it to us. So there we go with the run around again.
De nuevo mi novio y yo fuimos con el corre corre a Maracaibo (en cola nuevamente) aunque en esta ocasión no me pudo acompañar en el trayecto completo puesto que debía trabajar. Yo llegué primero al centro a buscar efectivo y sacarle copia a mi cédula, uno de los requisitos que nos pedían al momento de entregar el arancel.
Y ya que estaba por el centro, cuando ya iba de regreso a la parada del bus que me llevaría al rectorado, pasé por la Basílica donde esta nuestra Virgen de Chiquinquirá y no pude evitar, al ver la puerta abierta, ir a visitarla y pedir porque todo saliera bien en este proceso de graduación.
Again my boyfriend and I went with him to Maracaibo (in line again) although this time he could not accompany me on the whole trip since he had to work. I went to the center first to get cash and to get a copy of my ID card, one of the requirements they asked for when handing over the fee.
And while I was in the center, when I was on my way back to the bus stop that would take me to the rectorate, I passed by the Basilica where our Virgin of Chiquinquira is and I could not help, seeing the open door, to visit her and pray that everything would go well in this graduation process.
Luego finalmente llegué al rectorado, cansada, pero llegué. Vi la colita para entregar el arancel y cuando iba a pasar la copia de la cedula, la secretaria menciona que ya no es necesario. Yo en mi interior me pongo a decir un montón de cosas, porque ajá, gasto es gasto y ese dinero me servía para otra cosa. Pero bueno, lo importante es que ya por esa parte estábamos listos.
Then I finally arrived at the rector's office, tired, but I arrived. I saw the line to deliver the fee and when I was about to pass the copy of the ID card, the secretary mentioned that it was no longer necessary. I started to say a lot of things to myself, because aha, expense is expense and that money was useful for something else. But well, the important thing is that we were ready for that part.
Y ya con ese pasó completado, finalmente puedo decir que estoy en paz y en proceso de espera para recibir mi titulo de licenciada. Ahora solo me toca hacer el procedimiento para recibir mi paquete de grado con mi toga, birrete y las respectivas fotos para el recuerdo. Pero ya eso vendrá en otro post.
Termino diciendo que siempre luchen por lo que deseen. No se dejen vencer por los obstáculos, ellos solo están para hacernos madurar y volvernos más fuertes. Siempre busquen la manera de sacar provecho de cualquier situación y convertirlo en algo positivo para ustedes. Nunca desistan en sus sueños porque ellos sí se hacen realidad.
And with that step completed, I can finally say that I am at peace and in the process of waiting to receive my bachelor's degree. Now I just have to do the procedure to receive my degree package with my cap and gown and the respective photos for the memory. But that will come in another post.
I conclude by saying that always fight for what you want. Do not be defeated by obstacles, they are only there to make us mature and become stronger. Always look for ways to take advantage of any situation and turn it into something positive for you. Never give up on your dreams because they do come true.
