Hace días atrás había ido con mi mamá a una escuela que queda en la urbanización donde vivo, que, por ende, mi mamá trabaja allí y fuimos a llevarle comida a panchita que es la gatica de la escuela. Ella es obrera, sin embargo, mantiene muy cuidadas el jardín de la entrada de la escuela. Tiene sembradas muchas plantas y entre estas, la corona de cristo que hoy les hablare sobre su cultivo, crecimiento y cuidados.
A few days ago I had gone with my mom to a school that is in the urbanization where I live, which, therefore, my mom works there, and we went to take food to Panchita, who is the school's kitty. She is a worker, however, she keeps the garden at the entrance of the school very well cared for. She has planted many plants and among these, the crown of Christ that today I will tell you about its cultivation, growth and care.
Cultivo | Cultivation
Se planta un tallo con una tierra de buen abono. En cuanto al requerimiento del suelo esta suculenta necesita crecer en una tierra con buen drenaje, con suficiente agua, que no retenga demasiada humedad, algo similar a la que se utiliza con lo cactus. Ella puede crecer en la semisombra como a pleno sol, ayudando así a aumentar el número de las flores.
A stem is planted with a well-fertilized soil. As for the soil requirement this succulent needs to grow in a well-drained soil, with sufficient water, which does not retain too much moisture, similar to that used with cacti. It can grow in semi-shade as well as in full sun, thus helping to increase the number of flowers.
Crecimiento | Growth
El crecimiento de la corona de cristo crece de 3 a 4 pies de altura. Ya que es un arbusto semi suculento espinoso, las espinas cubren todo el tronco y las ramas. Tiene una reproducción que se llama esqueje, la cual tiene sus dos tipos: tallo y hoja. Aquí es importante saber que si se desea propagar el tallo de la suculenta se debe cortar un segmento de aproximadamente 10 centímetros, para que no se expanda. Cuidados | Care
Es de un cuidado muy fácil, se puede cultivar durante todo el año, no hay necesidad de regar mucha agua y es una planta ideal para lugares tropicales ya que la planta permanece en un ambiente cálido. También maneja la sequía muy bien, ideal para regiones secas con escasez de agua.
