👑Hello Alien Art community👑
Today I bring you an illustration as part of my participation in the weekly contest of @splinterlands, RIVER Nymph, is the character I chose for this week, where they are quite shy creatures and usually found below the surface of the rivers, but if they feel threatened they have the ability to fiercely defend their territory, they are also very protective of life, and if you get to be in danger they will lend you a hand, for my version I modified many things, because what I love to participate in these contests is to play with the fantasy characters and give them a look as if they existed for real.
🗡💦HERE YOU HAVE THE REFERENCE AND THE LINK SO YOU CAN SEE THE CARDS🗡💦
To start the composition, I drew an imposing woman of great beauty submerged almost in its entirety, only her face coming out subtly to the surface of the water, an abundant hair, with water lilies and lotus flowers around her, I want to tell you that I have new brushes and I have spent the whole week exploring them, in this case I used a brush that has the effect of a real graphite pencil and I love it as much as the watercolor brush which is a divinity, you don't know how long I was looking for my true identity in the drawings and I feel that just now I am and this style is the one I should always follow.
The color palette is composed between cold and warm tones, starting from cobalt blue as the main base since in the chart is the color that predominates in the character, this is arranged in her thick hair, for her very pale skin with reddish tones topped by the reflection of turquoise tones that make a very iridescent glow on her skin, for her dress a lilac tone almost whitish, in the flowers a magenta and oranges, and olive for the water lilies.
Working the layers from smallest to largest, the first thing I did was to progressively build up the skin until I had it finished with the insinuation of very subtle shimmers, I do this so that when I put the shimmer layer in the glow fusion mode I know where I am going to accentuate them more, then with the hair, flowers and water lilies, for the effect of being underwater, I worked with able on able, where I was working the translucent, to progressively make subtle parts of it get lost in the deepest depth, the water of a deep emerald tone, accentuating a lot the turquoise shimmers.
Finally I accentuated even more the flowers to give the appearance that they shine, and definition of the water lilies and give even more texture and depth to apply subtle glows and make the flowers magic, this has a reference in a movie that I like a lot since I was a child the princess and the toad where in the river when the main characters were toads and there was a romantic dance scene the lotus flowers on the water had subtle glows for the fireflies.
If you have come this far let me thank you for your support and company, it is very important to me, I invite you to follow me on my social networks in case you want to connect with me more directly and find out about my day to day and live processes of my illustrations, kisses and brillitos to where you are, I also remind you that I have open commissions agenda if you want to purchase a piece of my custom art.
