[ESP/ING] Chal de verano/summer shawl
En estos tiempos en que hace mucho calor uno no quiere dejar de usas ciertos accesorios y uno que a mí me fascina es un chal o bufanda de verano. Algo ligero con que taparse el sol o con que cubrir los hombros del sol. Quizá no es muy normal para ti escuchar en estos tiempos sobre un chal, pero tengo que comentarte que no son accesorios de señoras de tercera edad, no, todo lo contrario, es una cosa indispensable en unos guardarropas.
Para esta ocasión usé una tela de chiffon de 2 metros de largo y 1 metro de ancho. Este tramo de tela lo corté a la mitad conservando el largo de 2 metros.
In these times when it is very hot one does not want to stop using certain accessories and one that fascinates me is a summer shawl or scarf. Something light with which to cover the sun or cover your shoulders from the sun. Perhaps it is not very normal for you to hear about a shawl these days, but I have to tell you that they are not accessories for elderly ladies, no, quite the contrary, it is an essential thing in a wardrobe.
For this occasion I used a chiffon fabric 2 meters long and 1 meter wide. I cut this section of fabric in half keeping the length of 2 meters.
Los bordes fueron hilvanados primero, debido a que el chiffon es bastante difícil de trabajar por lo fluida que es la tela. Después se cosió a lo largo, dejando los extremos sin coser para poder hacer el próximo paso.
The edges were basted first, since chiffon is quite difficult to work with because of how fluid the fabric is. It was then sewn lengthwise, leaving the ends raw for the next step.
Cada uno de estos extremos tenían que ser nivelados y prepararlos para deshilachar los bordes. Corté una parte del extremo cosido para dejar libre toda la fibra preparada para ser deshilachada.
Each of these ends had to be leveled and prepared for fraying the edges. I cut a part of the sewn end to leave all the fiber ready to be frayed.
Y así poco a poco me dispuse a deshilachar todo el tejido del extremo de las telas. Mientras mas largas sean las fibras más fáciles de trabajar. El borde es aconsejable deshilachar unos 5 a 10cm aproximadamente.
And so, little by little, I began to fray all the fabric at the end of the cloth. The longer the fibers, the easier to work. It is advisable to fray the edge by approximately 5 to 10cm.
En este paso es necesario peinar un poco las fibras para poder separar tramos de 1 cm o 1,5 cm. Estos tramos hay que anudarlos en la base y lego ir entretejiendo cada fibra. Hay varias maneras de hacer este tejido, siempre dependiendo del gusto o ingenio de quien haga este trabajo.
In this step it is necessary to comb the fibers a little to be able to separate sections of 1 cm or 1.5 cm. These sections must be tied at the base and I will go interweaving each fiber. There are several ways to make this fabric, always depending on the taste or ingenuity of whoever does this work.
Este ha sido un trabajo un poco tedioso, pero después de todo, el resultado es muy agradable. El chiffon es una tela muy ligera y bastante fresca, muy agradable para este tipo de prendas.
This has been a bit of a tedious job, but after all, the result is very nice. Chiffon is a very light and quite fresh fabric, very pleasant for this type of garment.
