The Yearly "Dragon Race" Event

Where I live in England, around this time of year in the month of May. There is a fun event that happens on our local park lake. Two teams compete with each other by paddling their boats across the lake. There are several heats completed over a couple of hours. The team with the highest amount of winning heats is then declared the overall winner.

This yearly event is great to watch, as you can see from my photos (below). The Teams do get quite competitive, and beat a drum as the paddling gets faster. Similar to the old galleon ships in Roman times 🤣

The two boats are usually decorated to look like a Dragons. Hence the name of the contest is called the "Dragon Race". "Team 1" has a green dragon head, and "Team 2" has a red dragon head. At the end of the day the "Red Dragon Team" were declared the outright Winners. Congrats to them... 👏
