On Sundays, I usually go out and ride my bike along Bogotá's Ciclovía. It has become one of those little routines I really enjoy because it gives me a chance to clear my mind, get some exercise, and rediscover places that are part of my own city.

But this Sunday, the weather wasn't exactly on my side. It was a bit gray, I was feeling a little tired, and for a moment I thought maybe it would be better to stay home.

Still, I didn't want to let the day go by without getting outside.

So I had an idea: why not take a short bike ride through downtown Bogotá?

I live relatively close, about ten or fifteen minutes away by bike, and sometimes we have incredible places so close to us that we end up passing by them without really stopping to appreciate them.

So I got on my bike and decided to become a tourist in my own city for a few hours.

During my ride, I passed by some of the most recognizable places in downtown Bogotá: the National Museum, Colpatria Tower, the Tequendama Hotel, Bicentenario Park, and the Bogotá Planetarium.

Each of these places has its own history and personality, but seeing them from my bike gave me a different perspective. I wasn't in a hurry. I simply enjoyed the ride and let the route guide me.

My last stop was the former Santa María Bullring, a place that has undergone an important transformation. Today, it is no longer used as a bullring and has become a space for different cultural activities.

I thought it was beautiful to see how a city can change, transform, and find new ways to bring its spaces to life.

Eventually, I headed back home. I was a little tired, but also happy that I had decided to go out.

And it made me think that we don't always need to travel far away to feel like we're discovering something new. Sometimes, all it takes is getting on a bicycle, taking a different route, and looking at the familiar places around us with fresh eyes.

This Sunday, I didn't become a tourist in another city.

I became a tourist in my own. ❤️🚲

Los domingos suelo salir a montar bicicleta por la ciclovía de Bogotá. Es una de esas pequeñas rutinas que disfruto porque me permiten despejar la mente, moverme un poco y descubrir nuevamente lugares que forman parte de mi ciudad.

Pero este domingo el clima no estaba precisamente de mi lado. El día estaba un poco gris, yo también me sentía algo cansada y, por un momento, pensé que quizás lo mejor era quedarme en casa.

Sin embargo, tampoco quería dejar pasar el domingo sin salir.

Así que tuve una idea: ¿por qué no hacer un pequeño recorrido por el centro de Bogotá?

Vivo relativamente cerca, a unos diez o quince minutos en bicicleta, y muchas veces tenemos lugares increíbles tan cerca que terminamos pasando por ellos sin realmente detenernos a observarlos.

Así que me subí a mi bicicleta y decidí convertirme, por unas horas, en turista en mi propia ciudad.

Durante el recorrido pasé por algunos de los lugares más representativos del centro de Bogotá: el Museo Nacional, la Torre Colpatria, el Hotel Tequendama, el Parque Bicentenario y el Planetario de Bogotá.

Cada uno de estos lugares tiene una historia y una personalidad diferente, pero recorrerlos en bicicleta hizo que pudiera disfrutarlos desde otra perspectiva, sin afán y simplemente dejándome llevar por el camino.

Mi última parada fue la antigua Plaza de Toros de Santa María, un lugar que ha vivido una transformación muy importante. Hoy ya no funciona como plaza de toros y se ha convertido en un espacio destinado a diferentes actividades culturales.

Me pareció bonito poder pasar por allí y recordar que las ciudades también cambian, se transforman y encuentran nuevas maneras de darle vida a sus espacios.

Al final, regresé a casa un poco cansada, pero también feliz de haber salido.

Y pensé que quizás no siempre necesitamos viajar lejos para sentir que estamos descubriendo algo nuevo. A veces basta con tomar nuestra bicicleta, cambiar un poco la ruta habitual y mirar con otros ojos esos lugares que tenemos tan cerca.

Este domingo no fui turista en otra ciudad.

Fui turista en la mía. ❤️🚲
