Testing the new Keychain Multichain Beta! Step by step + My Experience[Eng-Spn]

imagen.png

Hey guys, I hope you're all doing great. I'm doing very well, and in this post, I'm joining the challenge to explore the Keychain Multichain Beta. Here's the challenge post if you'd like to participate: https://peakd.com/keychain/@keychain/one-more-week-to-complete-our-challenge-and-win

Today, I decided to help @keychain build a better wallet for all Hive users.

To use the Keychain Multichain Beta, we must first access our old Keychain wallet to export our keys as follows:

image.png

  • Go to Accounts.
  • image.png

  • And we click Export.

image.png

  • Where it says Export as an encrypted file, click there and a file will be downloaded, which you should save to your PC (in my case, I saved it in my Documents folder).

  • image.png

Once we have the encrypted file in our Documents folder, we are ready to download the extension.

image.png

The first thing I do is create a new profile in my browser from the Chrome Web Store and download the extension here.

To test the Keychain Multichain Beta extension, I installed my beta wallet from scratch in this new Chrome profile.

image.png

I clicked Add extension.

image.png

I did it! I already added the Keychain Multichain Beta extension to my Chrome browser.

image.png

image.png

Once added, I open my Keychain and this appears. I used the same password as my old keychain because both need to have the same password to import the accounts to my new Keychain Multichain Beta.

image.png

I choose the light theme, my language (Spanish), and the Popup display (hahaha, that sounds kind of weird to me).

image.png

I go to Import keys.

image.png

There, they will ask me for the encrypted file that I downloaded earlier from my old Keychain: I select the file.

image.png

When I uploaded the encrypted file of the account I exported, this automatically appeared in my wallet:

image.png

And here are my Hive accounts (@angeluxx and @angellife) automatically imported and ready in the Keychain Multichain Open Beta!

image.png

It was very easy to do, and now I'll take my usual steps to start being a Beta tester.

The first thing I did in my new Keychain Multichain Open Beta was go to the Network section and add an account; I immediately added a colleague named @arribaeltelon. This is useful for adding contacts and thus streamlining any operation you routinely perform with that user.

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

We have this menu that I'm reviewing in detail. I noticed there's a section called Connected dApps, but I couldn't figure out what it was about. I hope to investigate its purpose later; this part caught my attention, and I'd like to learn more about it.

image.png

Then I went to where my tokens are to test and stake some of them.

image.png

Now we're going to test and stake the LEO Tokens.

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

I managed to place my bets without any problems; it was very easy and straightforward.

image.png

There are many things I need to review, but downloading the extension and importing my accounts to the Keychain Multichain Open Beta was an extremely user-friendly process. I just had to follow the steps outlined in the official challenge post.

image.png

I really enjoyed the experience because it was very simple, fast, and convenient; I didn't have any problems. I'll be testing it more thoroughly and writing new posts related to this new feature of our favorite Hive wallet. I invite you to try it and participate in this challenge, which I found very fun.

Thanks for reading.

imagen.png

Me voy a Importar llaves.

imagen.png

imagen.pngimagen.pngimagen.png

imagen.pngimagen.pngimagen.png

@sacra97 @mariiale1979

Gracias por leerme.

It is very simple feature.
I hope to bring the attention of more users to this function so they do not close the extension each time they look for memo or details to send fund.
Thank you

Greetings @angeluxx, thanks for this tutorial. I'm already learning a bit more—this is a digital wallet, right? Like Binance?

Hi! I'm glad the tutorial was helpful. That's great!

From what I've researched, and to answer your question, it's not exactly like Binance. Binance is a centralized exchange, which means it works similarly to a bank: they hold your coins and manage your funds for you.

In contrast, Hive Keychain is a digital wallet. This means you are the sole owner of your keys and your funds; no one else can access them unless you share your keys. Furthermore, Keychain isn't just for storing cryptocurrencies (like HIVE and HBD); it also acts as your "digital identity," allowing you to quickly and securely log in to all the games, blogs, and apps in the Hive ecosystem without having to copy and paste your master passwords every time.

It's very useful and secure. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Thanks for stopping by!

I've studied it a bit, and I still don't understand some things, but I'm trying to learn.

If I'm informing myself, according to what I have to use a separate profile to try, and use the same old password right?

@katriel1 Hi, yes, first export your keys, then preferably create a new profile in your browser and download the multichain beta extension, import the account and enter the same password as your old key.

Thanks for participating. Can you also test the EVM part? Add an EVM chain, access any dapp with it, or explore the NFT is you have some.

All set,I’ve signed up for Splinterlands and Inleo, I’ve left a comment, and right now I’m signing this comment using Hive Keychain Beta.

I've performed Snaps on my favorite dApps, and everything is working fine.

What we mean is EVM. All Hive actions can already be done with the current official version, but this Beta brings EVM to what we already have, and that is what we need everyone to test.

Creating an EVM account, using it to sign into any dapp where EVM is available and more.

After I completed the entire process of exporting and importing my EVM account, the beta keychain was uninstalled.

image.png

The notification told me I had to download it again.

Hi, once I had completed the entire process to import my EVM account and done it correctly, when I went to change my nickname to one that better identified me, the beta extension stopped working, freezing for a few seconds. Then it gave me a notification saying I had to download the extension again.
