Seeking Warmth and Comfort in Traditional Soup
The most memorable warmth comes from the traditional things that grow from childhood.
The warmth of the spices is indeed the best choice after a long journey. Because I was starving, also feeling tired, plus cold because of the rain on the way, I thought about enjoying a traditional soup dish.
It's been a long time since I ate a soup dish with a gravy that wasn't thick. But of course, I miss the traditional soup which looks like it has a clear colored gravy but tastes rich in spices!
So that night, I stopped at "RUMAH SOP". In English, it means "The House of Soup". It's my first time visiting this place. But it looks quite promising.
The design of their place looks traditional with lots of wooden furniture, as well as lights with an impressive old-school vibe.
Just looking at the design, it's already impressive warmth. Well, it reminds me of my house and my late father. There was no electricity in my house as a child, so we used traditional lamps with fire and oil wicks. I remember the figure of my late father who made beautiful lights for the front yard of the house. There's nothing warmer than a father's love, right?
Oops, pardon my nostalgia. Back again to the discussion "RUMAH SOP". The menu they offer focuses on different types of soups. Of course, the traditional Indonesian soup, which uses clear soup. Starting from the soup stuffed with chicken, fish, birds, and beef. That's really interesting because it's quite complete compared to just places. It's no wonder they call their place "RUMAH SOP" because they are the place to provide various types of soup.
Actually, traditional soup in Indonesia is enjoyed not just for the main course served with rice. Most people here look for soup for the purpose of increasing energy and speeding up the healing process when sick.
I hope my fatigue will disappear by enjoying the dishes from this place. So I chose the Ribs Soup, with Hot Lemon Tea for the beverage.
Delightful portions at an affordable price! How about the taste? It was so delicious! You could say this will be my favorite list. The taste is rich in spices, and of course warm.
Each dish of soup is served with rice and other side dishes. But the price is separated, not including the soup.
I prefer to enjoy soup with rice. No other side dishes. There are spicy potatoes, spicy anchovies, and satay.
If you don't want to eat a dish that is too filling, try to enjoy soup without rice. The gravy from the soup itself will make us feel comfortable, like the warmth of a blanket in the rainy season.

This is so true. Honestly, a bowl of instant noodles is more than enough to bring back so many childhood memories. When it's raining outside, my mother or me and my siblings will cooks noodles. That gave us warmth and something to enjoy while inside the house.
Sometimes, my mom will buy batchoy or lomi. Those are traditional noodle soup dish in our hometown. We usually consume it as snacks. Or sometimes, when we get sick. Hehehe.
Food could really be nostalgic sometimes.

My childhood is fulfilled with instant noodles for saving money. Me and my sister cook instant noodles with wild veggies. :)

Now that Im living by myself I also add some white onions,cabbage, gree onions and add more chili powder for spicy!hehehee
