Sweet Cakes: A Gift Of Friendship
Sharing is beautiful. We never lose when we share. My late mother always taught me not to hoard food when you've had enough for the day. Look to others and share.
So, that's what I do with my harvest. I feel happy sharing my harvest. I share it with my neighbors, my new friends here. I don't expect anything in return.
Well, kindness always brings more kindness. I'm surprised and happy how much my friends here value friendship.
They often come out of the blue and bring surprises like food. This time, I was quite touched. I was missing cakes from Yogyakarta, and suddenly a friend arrived with cakes from Yogyakarta. Wow, what a beautiful coincidence.
I was given a box of Bakpia, a typical Yogyakarta souvenir. A cake filled with peeled mung beans.
There are various brands, of course, with different flavors but always maintaining the same characteristic shape and filling.
Of course, there are also many different fillings we can try with Bakpia cakes. This time, I got the original filling, peeled mung beans. One box contains 15 pieces of Bakpia cakes.
Oh, when I cut into this cake, the crust was crispy but still soft. And the filling was so soft.
I prepared a cup of coffee. Perfect to accompany this cake. ♥️🥰☕
Don't worry, these cakes can last for several days in the refrigerator. And I only ate two pieces, but I felt full. They were delicious! But luckily, I was able to restrain myself from finishing the entire box of Bakpia cakes!
This brand of Bakpia cakes comes in an artistic and cheerful box. Perfect for young people who frequently visit Yogyakarta.
Ah, I miss Yogyakarta, but right now I can't leave my garden because it needs to be watered regularly. It's still the dry season.
I'm so grateful for the new friendships I've made in my rented house. We're sharing gifts. It's so much fun to share what we have, and we know it doesn't have to be expensive. 😊

It’s the same here in the Philippines. Whatever we have, we share with our neighbors or friends, and they do the same whenever they have something they can share with us. It’s a nice way of helping and looking out for one another.
