The Beauty of Food Preparation

If cooking is an important trick, then time management is key.
Cooking is the art of time management. Your time is always short, but you have to finish various dishes at once.

The choice of the type of food we want to cook at home is often based on the time we have, and what we can cook (which depends on the ingredients available in our kitchen). We can't count on waiting a lot of time, because maybe we won't get that kind of time in our lifetime.

Especially for the chefs at home who are in charge of preparing dishes. No matter working or not, food must always be available to meet the needs of our lives. It's a huge task that other people rarely realize and don't even thank. They think that cooking for the family is a normal thing. Though it's best to do as much appreciation as possible to whoever prepares your food. :)

Instinct to Serve

A2360BF5-31D8-4F90-9CC2-7DC707476D47.jpeg

I don't know, I don't know exactly when I really enjoy serving people with my cooking. In the past, when I was still a work in a company, I loved to cook and then brought my cooking products to my workplace. It felt so good (which can't be expressed in words).

Then it got bigger and felt like running in my blood, it was an instinct to serve others with cooking. I'm happy to do it all. And I'm excited when technology can allow me to share photos of my food, especially at HIVE with you guys here. ❤️

Until recently I was a chef for my family. ❤️ With love, and without any pressure. In fact, I find it very boring with my days if I can't cook on some occasions. Do you enjoy cooking? If not, that's fine because not everyone is born to be able to cook, but I'm sure everyone can have the survival skills to make food ❤️

FOOD PREPARATION

Food preparation is the must-have trick in the kitchen! That will save time for the next one. Usually, I do food preparation while watching a movie. So it won't feel burdensome.

This time I share some photos of the ingredients that I have prepared for several food menus at once.

There are tempeh, carrots, broccoli, and taro. Cutting o into small pieces is really fun.

Carrots cut lengthwise. Can be used for serving salads, or even soups. It doesn't matter at all to use a shape that hasn't been used before.

Then there's broccoli. I always do food prep for broccoli because they change color very quickly. Before storing, I will blanch them for 3 minutes in boiling water along with a pinch of salt.

Broccoli, broccoli! I happily sooo much on them for a delicious snack even if they're just boiled.

This food prep in broccoli also enhances the color, compared to cooking directly without blanching. So this is indeed my favorite way to prepare and store broccoli.

Look at the ingredients wrapped in white fungi! This is tempeh made from soybeans. I'm always amazed at how fungi work to ferment soybeans into beautiful and delicious tempeh!

I cut the tempeh into small pieces. Looks beautiful, right?

Taro is suitable as a substitute for rice. The texture is similar to sweet potatoes and potatoes. The lower glycemic index of rice makes taro a healthier choice.

Small cubes that look like tofu but are not. These are taro pieces.

But cooking taro takes a little effort. Taro should be peeled with gloves on to avoid the sap from scratching the skin. Then the peeled taro must be washed many times to remove the sap mucus. Before cooking, the taro must be soaked in salt water so that it does not itch when eaten.

So, those were some of my activities in the kitchen that prepared some pretty-looking ingredients. They are too dear to pass up once I am. They have to be captured on my camera and then you guys see.

I hope you all enjoy it too. Hope you have a great day today, with food that can make you grateful and smile today.

Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.

All pictures were taken using iPhone 11.

I need to do more food preparation.
I love cooking though sometimes I don’t mind getting a break from it. Lol! I love food presentation as well. Thanks for that broccoli tip. 😃

Because I also find doing the food prep boresome, I also put on a video to watch or listen to a podcast or something in the background. That way I can save on time.

I love to listen motivation one

Or those educational ones. I'm trying to listen to an educational audiobook, but because it's 2 - 3 hours long, I forget where I left off.

Great job! I always help my mom or my girlfriend to cook because it is not their responsibility. But in some countries it works like that, anyway, and after every meal I thank them and tell them that the food was great.

Taro, yes I felt itchy in my hands when handling some kinds of taro. I have read from here that we need to soak them in a salt water to remove itchiness when eating. I am curious about salt water, can we used just a tap water and sprinkled with salt as an alternative?

I love broccoli but it is so pricey and our budget can't afford it. How i wish to have it atleast once a week.
