The Sekupang Pond Park Batam City

A huge park with a jogging track and fish pond.

Big cities must have lots of green areas to support the lifestyle of their people. City parks are the most reliable places for walking and enjoying fresh air when residential areas are filled with pollution and overcrowding.

image.png

The Sekupang Pond Park is one of several city parks in Batam City. This park is close to the ferry port to Singapore. So, this is a strategic location if you want to visit to enjoy the park view.

IMG_20230315_095457.jpg
Visitors must pay an entrance fee of $0.3 for weekdays, and $0.6 for weekends and national holidays.

IMG_20230315_103357.jpg
The Sekupang Pond Park is located in front of a large factory. Batam City is known as an industrial city whose economic center relies on factories.

Anyway. I’ve been this place after taking breakfast to the famous street food in. Batam. City. You can read here, then.

At this pool, electric bike rentals are available for those of you who are tired of walking but still want to go around the park. This park is quite large.

IMG_20230315_095556.jpg

I didn't even go around the whole park, also because when I arrived it was already blazing hot. If in the morning the sun is not yet hot, then this place would be good as a jogging track.

In the area near the entrance gate, there is an attractive pathway with bright colors. Fish graffiti was made along the pathway.

The large trees on the edge of the park make the area on the edge feel cool. I sat for a while in this area, looking at the fish pond filled with lotuses in front of me.

IMG_20230315_100017.jpg
This fish pond is quite large. If it's a holiday, the duck paddling rides are open. Quite fun, I imagine.

IMG_20230315_095952.jpg

Meanwhile, there are interesting spots. A small spot on the edge of the pond that can be used to take photos and also feed the fish. I didn't miss this opportunity. You can see small fish that look like they were recently put into this pond by officers.

IMG_20230315_100006.jpg

I think the fish pond in this park is quite beautiful. Especially with the flowering lotuses. Some visitors were even seen taking videos for their social media projects. It also seems interesting for a pre-wedding location.

IMG_20230315_100109.jpg

Luckily, when I arrived there were lots of lotuses blooming. With a perfect blue sky, I feel like today is a beautiful day to enjoy. :)

Continuing to another area, there are several seating areas. With natural benches made of wood without finishing. Please be careful for visitors who bring children because the seating location is on the edge of the pool.

IMG_20230315_100506.jpg
Also, there is a small spot that is slightly decorated with a wooden patterned floor.

Meanwhile, at the edge of the pool in another area, there are also small huts with thatched roofs for resting. Suitable for visitors who bring their families and want to stay longer in this place. Can be used as an exciting picnic time. Don't forget to bring food or drink. :)

IMG_20230315_101316.jpg
The more we walk into the park area, the more it feels like we are in a more natural area with lots of big trees. At the edge of the park area, you can still feel the atmosphere of a forest that has been left untouched by humans.

IMG_20230315_101258.jpg

IMG_20230315_101621.jpg

In the pond you can also see lotuses growing wild. Sometimes it makes me think strangely, what if there were crocodiles in the pool. Lol

IMG_20230315_100235.jpg

For visitors who like to walk, this place is suitable for walking while enjoying the natural green area. City residents will even be made to forget for a moment that in the city of Batam there is a beautiful place like this The Sekupang Pond Park.

The hilly area opposite the park area adds to the interesting view here. I like to linger in this park. Of course, don't forget to wear sunscreen because the heat here will hurt your skin!

IMG_20230315_101034.jpg

The Sekupang Pond Park, read in Indonesian (Taman Kolam Sekupang) because it is in the Sekupang area, Batam City. You can visit this beautiful and fresh park, if you are in Singapore and want to visit Indonesia, to Batam City. You just need to take a ferry from Singapore. So, see you on my travel stories.

You are very right, cities have to have more green spaces and recreational spaces so that people can be in contact with nature, in addition to the benefits of having a green space in the city.
What a beautiful lake, and what a good location it has, the perfect excuse to visit this charming place.
What a good service, I love that there are electric bicycles for rent, so one could tour the park and enjoy the atmosphere
Thank you very much dear friend @anggreklestari for taking us to see this beautiful place

Beautiful area you have visited, it's great having these places to visit which re-charge us with their spectacular views of nature. I like the Lotus plants on the water and of course the fish in the pond. I think it's really neat how the fish are painted on that one pathway. Thanks for sharing ☺️

It's a lovely and peaceful place to sit and enjoy the leisure time. These trees are highlighting that park is ecological reserve and it has many things to offer like jogging, playing and cycling.
Jogging track is attractive as it is painted with fishes.

If only there were crocodiles in that beautiful pond... but what are you doing thinking about that? 🤣

Sekupang Pond Park is a very welcoming place from what I can observe from your photos, and you had a wonderful time there. Though you have had some strange ideas come to you in the midst of your contemplative state.

May they not forget to bring the food for the Picnic or in any case leave them your card, so you can prepare food. Simple like that 😉.
