Touching The Silence (Food Photography)

The title of the food plating that I made with my new collection of ceramic plates this time is “TOUCHING THE SILENCE”.
The word silence is inspired by the black color of the ceramic plate. Then touching the silence itself I liken it to the bright colors that have colored the black plate.
I hope we can all create silence when life makes us quiet with suffering. There are always beautiful colors in this life that will touch the silence with joy.
The ingredients that I use for this plating are cheesecake with pandan flavor as the main dessert and coconut cream as the sauce. There are also passion fruits and coconut flakes for a complementary finishing touch to the plating.
Cheesecake with Pandan Flavor
Last night I bought a piece of cake at “The Cafe House”. Then I put it in the fridge because it was too late and I was very sleepy when I got home last night.
Since the shape was not very good, I decided to cut the cake in half. So, then I created a new plating for this cake to make it look nicer.
Well, I really like food-plating activities. It's like healing for me. During the food plating process, it keeps my brain thinking positively. It's so good for me to be able to forget the negative thoughts that just drain my energy!
Add Coconut Cream
The coconut cream that I use here has a texture like a coconut milk. The texture is thick but not too dense like cream in general.
I randomly added coconut cream to the plate. I don't have a specific pattern plan. I just follow where my intuition will take the spoon that contains the coconut cream.
Add Slice of Cake
Add a slice of cake according to the position of the plate you want. I have a slice of cake in the middle of the plate because I have added coconut cream sauce almost all over the edge of the plate.
So a suitable space for a piece of cake is in the middle of the plate with the sauce condition like that.
Add Passion Fruits to Coconut Cream Pattern
When finished with laying the cake, add passion fruits in very small quantities. Don't overdo it because it will damage the dominant white color.
I should keep more white as the center of attention on the plate.
Add Pieces of Cakes
Add small pieces of cakes to emphasize the sauce.
The results of the photoshoot will be brighter with the presence of several small cakes that emphasize the points.
Coconut Flakes As Finishing Plating
I use coconut flakes to complete the plating because it is still one color tone, also to add a fragrant and savory.
Here I use dried coconut flakes so that the texture is more crispy. So it's perfect for perfecting the overall texture.
