En ocasiones a los padres se nos hace agotador tener que criar y trabajar, en ese cúmulo de responsabilidades también podemos perder el enfoque de nuestras aspiraciones pues nos centramos en cumplir con los deberes, es que sin querer el tema económico nos termina afectando más de lo que queremos; pero es justo y muy necesario sacar un tiempo para nosostros y no olvidar que también estamos en constante aprendizaje.

Sometimes parents find it exhausting to have to raise and work, in this accumulation of responsibilities we can also lose focus of our aspirations because we focus on fulfilling the duties, is that unintentionally the economic issue ends up affecting us more than we want; but it is fair and very necessary to take time for us and not forget that we are also constantly learning.

Hace poco tome la iniciativa de realizar un curso de lengua de señas Venezolana porque soy docente y trabajo en el área de educación especial, al principio pensé "es en horario de trabajo, ¿tendré tiempo de estudiar?, ¿que momento le dedico a eso si tengo que atender a mi hijo?" Y de repente me cuestioné a mi misma y me dije "si, puedes hay tiempo para todo"; hasta mi jefa me apoyo para que lo hiciera. Actualmente voy por el segundo módulo y mi pequeño hasta conoce algunas señas, al verme practicar en el espejo le ha dado curiosidad, pues luego de realizar las tareas con el me pongo visualizar las señas para memorizarlas, esto cuando lo hago en casa porque si el necesita drenar energía me toca salir con el y con la guía.

Recently I took the initiative to take a course of Venezuelan Sign Language because I am a teacher and I work in the area of special education, at first I thought "it is during working hours, will I have time to study, what time do I dedicate to that if I have to take care of my son?" And suddenly I questioned myself and I said "yes, you can, there is time for everything"; even my boss supported me to do it. Currently I am in the second module and my little one even knows some signs, seeing me practicing in the mirror has made him curious, because after doing the tasks with him I visualize the signs to memorize them, this when I do it at home because if he needs to drain energy I have to go out with him and with the guide.

Cuando quise redactar este post mi idea inicial era mostrarles como he podido avanzar con el curso y a su vez mi hijo podía divertirse al llevarlo al parque y en ese tiempo que el podia recrearse yo aprovechaba de estudiar, pero al hacer esto paso algo muy curioso, se acercó una señora a vender dulces y unos helados de frutas, quien desde la distancia me ve hacer las señas y me preguntó que si tenía alguna deficiencia auditiva o cuál era la razón de estar haciendo eso, le expliqué y ella muy orgullosa me responde "también soy docente y hago esto para ayudarme porque tengo dos hijos y estoy divorciada".

When I wanted to write this post my initial idea was to show you how I have been able to advance with the course and in turn my son could have fun by taking him to the park and in that time that he could recreate I took advantage of studying, but while doing this something very curious happened, a lady came to sell candy and some fruit ice cream, I explained to her and she very proudly answered "I am also a teacher and I do this to help me because I have two children and I am divorced".

Para apoyarle le compré varios helados y reparti algunos niños que estaban jugando también allí, me comentó que ese día las ventas no habían estando muy buenas pero que le alegraba mi ayuda, créanme que a mí más. Yo había estado sacando algunas fotos para mostrarles el método de aprendizaje visual por medio de la guía, a mí hijo jugando y socializando; en eso me nació pedirle una foto a esa señora que se ganó toda mi admiración, porsupuesto le pedí su permiso para publicarlas y estuvo de acuerdo. Gracias, María Eugenia por darme una excelente lección sin darme cuenta, porque dónde yo veía una limitación tu viste una oportunidad y no te detuviste.

To support her I bought him several ice creams and gave some children who were also playing there, she told me that that day the sales had not been very good but he was happy for my help, believe me, I was even happier. I had been taking some pictures to show them the visual learning method through the guide, my son playing and socializing; at that moment I asked for a picture to that lady who won all my admiration, of course I asked her permission to publish them and she agreed. Thank you, María Eugenia for giving me an excellent lesson without realizing it, because where I saw a limitation you saw an opportunity and you did not stop.

Tuvimos luego una larga charla, la cual a las dos nos hizo muy bien, ella se fue con una gran sonrisa y por mi parte no me pudo llenar más el alma. Es que en definitiva los hijos terminan sacando la mejor versión de uno, bien sea para motivarnos a conseguir otros ingresos o para formarnos más como profesionales, pero el punto es que nos hacen querer crecer y avanzar. Por mi parte la próxima vez que desee algo para mí no me podré como un freno maternidad, al contrario quiero ser el mejor ejemplo para que en un futuro mi pequeño no se detenga.

We had a long talk afterwards, which was very good for both of us, she left with a big smile on her face and I couldn't have been more happy. In the end, children end up bringing out the best version of you, either to motivate us to get other income or to form us more as professionals, but the point is that they make us want to grow and move forward. For my part, the next time I want something for myself I will not be a motherhood brake, on the contrary, I want to be the best example so that in the future my little one does not stop.
