The Nightmarish Creature, Cursed Windeku // Social Media Challenge

Hello Everyone!
It's been about 2 weeks since my last post and I can finally write back. Lately my health is not very good, I have a severe cold until some of my daily activities are neglected. The weather in my area is bad, it's scorching hot during the day and at night it's very cold. Not only me but also people around me are getting the flu and coughing colds because of this weather. Luckily now my health has started to improve and I can write back to take part in one of Splinterland's weekly challenges,Social Media Challenge.
In this article, I will discuss about one of my favorite cards from the Chaos Legion edition of the Death Splinter, Cursed Windeku. Some of the points I will discuss include Monster Stats and Abilities, strategy battles that I usually use, and monster price speculation.

CURSED WINDEKU

LORE
Cursed Windeku are nightmarish creatures that live in the deepest and darkest woods. They hunt at night, stalking their prey before attacking with their claws, while their thorn-like horns and natural healing ability provide an excellent defense,. They exude a pungent pheromone that reduces the reaction time of their victims, often allowing the Windeku to begin devouring them before they are dead. While these lifeless creatures may appear animalistic, they are highly intelligent. They have heeded the call put forth by the Lord of Darkness. Their thirst for blood is now focused on the Chaos Legion.
Monster: CURSED WINDEKU
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: RARE
Element: DEATH
Attack: MELEE
Mana Cap : 6
Abilities: Thorns (Level 1), Heal (Level 5), Slow (Level 10)
As written in Lore, Cursed Windeku The Nightmarish Creatures Monster is indeed terrible. Not just a look, but the ability that this monster has makes the enemy frightened. A s we know that the Thorns ability that at level 1 of this monster is already active is a nightmare for melee monsters. At level 5 in the gold league, Heal's ability will be active. This makes this monster very powerful as a tank in small or medium manacap battles. Slow ability will be active at max level or in diamond and champion leagues. The image below shows the stats and abilities of Cursed Windeku in full.

As you can see, with manacap 6 Cursed Windeku has HP 9 at level 1. Although it has no armor, HP 9 is enough to be used as a tank. Especially at level 5 when Heal ability is active with HP 10, it is very suitable as a powerful tank with minimalist manacap. In addition, this Monster has the same speed at all levels, which is 3. It's good enough to be used on the Bronze and Silver leagues. In the gold league and above, I think monsters with speed 3 without armor are quite good, but less powerful in high manacap fights. Next I will share one of My battle strategy with Cursed Windeku in the gold league. I use my Scholarship account from NFTy Arcade with IGN @na-spl-6.

BATTLE WITH CURSED WINDEKU
RULESETS

Rulesets : Aim True (Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target), Melee Mayhem (Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position)
Manacap : 28
Element Available : WATER, DEATH, DRAGON
LINE UP
| Monster | Position | Strategy |
|---|---|---|
![]() | Summoner | I used a level 5 Thaddius Brood as a Summoner, there was no particular reason but I only had this summoner on the death element in the gold league. |
![]() | First | Cursed Windeku as a tank. The reason is that this battle is a medium manacap battle. By looking at Melee Mayhem's rulesets, it is likely that the enemy will use a lot of monster with Melee attack. If my prediction is correct then Cursed Windeku with Thorns and Heal ability is very suitable as a tank. |
![]() | Second | Djinn Muirat Level 3 in second place. I chose this monster in the second position because this monster can be an attacker and a second tank. I think this monster is very powerful because it has 3 magic attacks, 8HP with 4 armors, as well as void armor, knock out, giant killer, and magic refflect. |
![]() | Third | Carrion Shade level 6. Actually, this monster I chose last to match the remaining manacap. Manacap 1 with 1 Melee attack, compared to other monster with manacap1 monsters is the best because it has high speed, Flying ability and Melee attack. I moved this monster from the last position to the 3rd position to protect the main attacker from the opponent's Opportunity attack. |
![]() | Fourth | Life Sapper level 5 as attacker because They have 2 magic attacks with Life Leech ability. Monster's health increases each time it damages an enemy Monster's health in proportion to the damage dealt. |
![]() | Fifth | Soul Strangler level 5, attacker low manacap with 3 ranged attack and speed 3. I think this monster suitable for back attackers. |
![]() | Last | Weirding Warrior Level 4. 2 mana monster with 2 range attacks, 3 speed, Shatter and Amplify ability. This monster is attacker to destroyed armor enemy tanks. |

The enemy uses Water Element with Summoner Kelya Frendul. They put Frozen Soldier as tank. It seems that the enemy applies defense strategy by placing monsters with Shield ability as tanks and behind them there are monsters with Armor ability, Heal and Repair and Triage ability. The enemy's main attacker is Deeplurker with Opportunity. Maybe the enemy thought that I would use Melee's attack as the main attack.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
Advantages :
- Thorns ability is already active from level 1,
- Good tank in low manacap battles, because has high Heal Point in mana 6.
- Speed is quite high.
- It is in the current starter card, so at level 1 all players can play without rent or buy.
Disadvantages:
- Has no Armor, weak with high damage enemies.
- The price is the most expensive compared to other rare monster Chaos Legions.

In the Splinterlads in-game market and in Peakmonster the price of Cursed Windeku Reguler Foil/BCX is the most expensive compared to other rare Chaos Legion monsters. However, it is still below the price of Rare Summoners. As for the price of Cursed Windeku Gold Foil hartu is still below the price of Demonshark and Xenith Monk. In My Opinion, if you want to invest Cursed Windeku better buy a Gold Foil card than Regular Foil. In the future, if there are no other cards with Thorns ability at level 1 such as Cursed Windeku and Djinn Chwala, the price of cursed windeku will continue to rise. Especially with the latest reward system, then I speculate that all card prices both rental and buying and selling will rise, because if we use the starter card our reward will be reduced. All players will definitely try to have their own cards, even if the bot will need a personal card to play.
