Wild Daisies
One of my favourite youthful memories was sitting in the field plucking the pedals off a Daisy flower one by one and repeating.
“He loves me, he loves me not”
“He loves me, he loves me not”
The last petal picked revealed the truth.
Oxeye Daisy
(Leucanthemum vulgare)
I learned of this from my Grandmother and I was absolutely fascinated and a little confused when I saw her plucking petals one by one and repeating
“He loves me, he loves me not”
I was pretty sure my Grandfather loved her. I never saw or heard them argue.
I haven't picked the petals off a Daisy for many years.
The truth revealed is not full proof.
I enjoy having them grow wild and taking pictures of them.
Simply beautiful and absolutely perfect.
