I started upvoting #threads with 5% upvote and not thinking that much about the dust.
I just do it to appreciate their threads, and give some value in the community. Soon, my 5% upvote will have a value. I am growing my account overtime.
What is your criteria in upvoting or engaging with the content and how can you say that it is a quality content?

I like to spread votes around to boost the people who are active here 👏
Me too, sadly mine has almost no value if it is 5% haha
Like you said, just grow your account 🦁👏👍
bingo!
Soon might come sooner than you think... Though I recommend using @dustsweeper if you want your votes to become more than dust until then...
I use dustsweeper. But according to my math, am I losing 50% of my deposit since the rewards are split 50:50?
Or maybe I am wrong.
According to my math, I think that's right... Though that's only for the amount of vote added by Dustsweeper to the votes already on the post. It's more about not losing the upvotes than earning extra.
hmm. Thanks for your insights! But I feel that getting 100% of my deposit still better imo. I mean, what's the point of not losing those upvotes tho?
I feel that way too...
From my understanding, if you get, let's say, a lot of $0.01 upvotes, they'll even out with dustsweepers fees. If you get a lot of votes that are better than $0.01 but still lower than the dust thershold on HIVE ($0.02) then you'll get into the profit terriority even with dustsweeper's cut.
so that means I should get >$0.01 to get the profit even without the 50%? Hmm interesting.
Wait...is it better to use dustsweeper when I upvote and did not reach the $0.02 threshold or when my posts doesn't reach it?
Haven't made the calculation myself yet. But I think it's better to use Dustsweeper if your upvote (at the percentage you vote with,) is less than $0.02 but bigger than $0.01... I don't have data to back it up, though, so do what feels right to you.
Thank you! I decided not to use it. I just feel that I am losing rather than gaining monetary rewards.
Quality is very very subjective. In a decentralized community it is up to you how you judge or prfer to reward content, so it comes down to your interest area of engagement.

Well, you're right. I still upvote when I like the content.
Okay
