[ESP / ENG]
Jane Avril, símbolo del can can y sensualidad a fines del siglo XIX

Yo he vuelto, tu te has ido.
Jane Avril, symbol of the can can and sensuality at the end of the 19th century.
She, slender and fragile as a reed from the banks of the Seine, graceful, tender and distant for my dreams of apprentice painter, she, the dance turned goddess, gale that catches me, makes me fall in love, drags me to her stampa recia, on the tables of the cabaret.
I watch her pass by from my window, here on this hill that the world knows as Montmartre, this ardent Paris, with its ranges of love, chest to keep passions and lusts.
My crazy Jane, my slender melinite explosive and delirious, orchid in frenzy, exquisite creature, my strange, my rare, my Jane Avril.
Her name alone runs down the spine of passion, dulls the flowers of spring, stops autumn in a rustle of silks.
She passes defiant and erect, by her side the Goulue, Valentine the disjointed, along with all the beings of the dazzling nights on the canvases of Toulouse Lautrec, nights of love of a Paris that only awakens to the drumming of your divine feet.
My canvas becomes mist wanting to portray this love affair that fills my lines, my forms, my planes, this passion is only lived once, when the century of light dies, when the century of love is born.

Flashing rays cross my sky, names anchored in history, Monet, Manet, Pisarro, Degas, Loutrec, Gauguin, manufacturers of light, color, parts of immemorial time. Legend aggrandizes them, I am only a dot in the sand of this world that envelops us all.
Love for Paris, love in Paris, love of Paris, your dreamy silhouette is kept deep in my glass of absinthe, the wet streets reflect your undulating step, your gazelle gait envelops my imagination, I desire your dance on the stay of my body anointed in color, I dream your kisses on the enervating altar of mad passion.
Beautiful and fragile Salome of light and movement, I want to be John the Baptist and lose my head in the coral bust of your walk.
Where are you at this hour? At the Folie Bergé? At the Jardin de Paris, at the Moulin Rouge.... Maybe at the Cabaret du Ciel or at the Cabaret I'Enfer... Blue lights and elegant arches enclose me between the glory and the avernus.
Where are you Jane Avril? Platonic love of my heated memory... The night answers me...
- There she is, look for her in your glasses of absinthe and champagne, look for her in the socialist song of Aristide Bruant, in the heated and shameless kisses of the Goulue, look for her in the genius strokes of Henri de Tolouse Lautrec.
I have the love wrapped to paint your night, I have the perfume that envelops your skin of silk and butterfly, I have a dream of kisses that elevate me to a world of madhouses, the same madhouses from where your glory was born.
Your face of magical beauty, your hair of lemon and fire, I follow your footsteps, I go through one, two, ten, a hundred and a thousand cabarets chasing your silhouette, you are the sum of them all, you are and eternally will be my Jane Avril...

Oh!!!! Blessed dream you bring me back to the mortal world, you take me out of the portals of love and glory, I am me again, a hint of sadness is imprisoned in a broken mirror. I am back, you are gone. You are ashes that have broken the decades of history.
Jane Avril, born Jeanne Beauden, was a dancer, muse and close friend of the great painter Toulouse Lautrec, she single-handedly embodied the can can dance at the end of the last decade of the 19th century.
Mysterious, beautiful and graceful woman, her convulsive dance steps made history, so much so that her love was disputed by artists and businessmen and it is said that many, when they were not reciprocated, fell and died in depression. Jane Avril, forgotten, old and in tormenting misery, died at the age of 74 in an old people's home in Paris on January 16, 1943
