¡Saludos comunidad! En el reto de esta semana quiero hablarles sobre una estrategia que he estado aplicando con el Splinter de Tierra. En partidas con las condiciones de batalla: “Little League” y “Are You Entertained?”. La cual consiste en incluir una carta “Gladius” en la composición que en conjunto con las habilidades: “Magic Reflect”, “Amplify”, “Protect” y “Poison” puede hacer mucho la diferencia en nuestra estrategia. Bertrol Gobson es un monstruo del Splinter de Tierra, es del tipo común, y pertenece a la edición Gladius.

Greetings community! In this week's challenge I want to tell you about a strategy I've been applying with the Earth Splinter. In games with the following battle conditions: "Little League" and "Are You Entertained? Which consists of including a card "Gladius" in the composition that together with the abilities: "Magic Reflect", "Amplify", "Protect" and "Poison" can make a lot of difference in our strategy. Bertrol Gobson is an Earth Splinter monster, is of the common type, and belongs to the Gladius edition.

Bertrol Gobson es un monstruo interesante. Desde su nivel 3 adquiere un punto más de daño físico, lo que permite aprovechar mejor sus ataques. Además, cuenta con buena velocidad, y un coste de maná 2 que lo hace una carta muy versátil de utilizar. También cuenta con las habilidades: “Bloodlust” y “Opportunity”, las cuales son mortales en las condiciones adecuadas. Particularmente, uso esta carta en su nivel 3, ya que son las copias que poseo. Sin embargo, su desempeño ha sido excelente en mis partidas en la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno. Por lo general, mi estrategia consiste en una ofensiva basada en una mezcla de daño mágico y físico.

Bertrol Gobson is an interesting monster. From his level 3, he gains one more point of physical damage, which allows him to take better advantage of his attacks. In addition, he has good speed, and a mana cost of 2 which makes him a very versatile card to use. It also has the abilities: "Bloodlust" and "Opportunity", which are deadly in the right conditions. Particularly, I use this card in its level 3, as these are the copies I own. However, its performance has been excellent in my Silver league games in the Modern format. Generally, my strategy consists of an offense based on a mix of magic and physical damage.

¡Pasemos a la Batalla! Como les mencioné anteriormente, mi estrategia consiste en formar una composición con una ofensiva basada en una mezcla de daño mágico y físico. Para ello, usé al Splinter de Tierra. En la siguiente imagen pueden observar todas las condiciones de la partida.

Let's go to battle! As I mentioned before, my strategy consists of forming a composition with an offensive based on a mix of magic and physical damage. For this, I used the Earth Splinter. In the following image you can see all the conditions of the game.

Usé a Obsidian como invocador con el propósito de incrementar el daño mágico en 1 punto. En la Primera posición usé a Failed Summoner con la finalidad de retornar el daño mágico enemigo mediante su habilidad “Magic Reflect”. En la Segunda posición usé a Epona con el propósito de aumentar en 1 punto la vida de la composición mediante su habilidad “Strengthen”, y proteger al resto del equipo en caso de que el tanque muera. En la Tercera posición usé a Queen Mycelia con la finalidad de dar soporte a la composición mediante su habilidad “Protect”, aumentar el daño reflejado de la habilidad “Magic Reflect” mediante su habilidad “Amplify”, y contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea. En la Cuarta posición usé a Bertrol Gobson con el propósito de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea mediante su habilidad “Opportunity”, además en esta posición no es un objetivo directo del daño enemigo. En la Quinta posición usé a Venari Scout con la finalidad de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea mediante su habilidad “Opportunity”, y también proteger al resto de la composición de posibles ataques de tipo “Sneak” del enemigo. Por último usé al Dr. Blight con el propósito de tomar ventaja en la batalla al aplicar sus habilidades: “Affliction” y “Poison”, y también contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea.

I used Obsidian as a summoner in order to increase the magic damage by 1 point. In the first position I used Failed Summoner with the purpose of returning enemy magic damage through its "Magic Reflect" ability. In the second position I used Epona in order to increase the life of the composition by 1 point with her ability "Strengthen", and protect the rest of the team in case the tank dies. In the third position I used Queen Mycelia to support the composition with her "Protect" ability, increase the reflected damage of the "Magic Reflect" ability with her "Amplify" ability, and contribute with damage from the second line. In the fourth position I used Bertrol Gobson with the purpose of contributing to the damage from the second line with his "Opportunity" ability, also in this position he is not a direct target of enemy damage. In the fifth position I used Venari Scout in order to contribute with damage from the second line with his "Opportunity" ability, and also to protect the rest of the composition from possible "Sneak" attacks from the enemy. Finally, I used Dr. Blight in order to take advantage in the battle by applying his "Affliction" and "Poison" abilities, and also to contribute with damage from the second line.

En el turno 2 de la ronda 2, Xenith Monk murió por los efectos de la habilidad “Poison”. La segunda línea enemiga también se vió afectada gracias a la habilidad “Magic Reflect”. Mi composición seguía completa pero aún quedaba por luchar para definir el rumbo de la batalla.

On turn 2 of round 2, Xenith Monk was killed by the effects of the "Poison" ability. The second enemy line was also affected thanks to the "Magic Reflect" ability. My composition was still complete but I still had to fight to define the course of the battle.

En el turno 4 de la ronda 2, Bertrol Gobson abatió a Venari Spellsmith, activando su habilidad “Bloodlust”. Lo que representa una gran ventaja en la partida. El enemigo ya sólo contaba con 4 monstruos, y mi composición permanecía completa. El rumbo de la batalla se estaba definiendo.

On turn 4 of round 2, Bertrol Gobson took down Venari Spellsmith, activating his "Bloodlust" ability. This represents a great advantage in the game. The enemy now had only 4 monsters, and my composition remained complete. The course of the battle was being defined.

En el turno 1 de la ronda 3, Bertrol Gobson abatió a Revealer, activando nuevamente su habilidad “Bloodlust”. El enemigo ya sólo contaba con 2 monstruos. En el turno 7 de la ronda 3, Venari Scout abatió a Ravenhood Warden, dejando al enemigo con tan sólo 1 monstruo, y mi composición aún contaba con 5 monstruos. El rumbo de la batalla estaba más que definido. Finalmente, en el turno 11 de la ronda 3, Queen Mycelia abatió a Dhampir Infiltrator, terminando la batalla. ¿Qué hizo la diferencia entre las estrategias? El daño de la segunda línea del enemigo no era muy alto. Tampoco incluyó las habilidades: “Bloodlust”, “Opportunity”, “Magic Reflect” y “Poison” en su composición, lo que también representó una gran desventaja. Todo esto pueden observarlo en las siguientes imágenes.

Finally, on turn 11 of round 3, Queen Mycelia took down Dhampir Infiltrator, ending the battle. What made the difference between the strategies? The damage of the enemy's second line was not very high. It also did not include the abilities: "Bloodlust", "Opportunity", "Magic Reflect" and "Poison" in its composition, which also represented a great disadvantage.
