¡Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! – Failed Summoner, Epona & Queen Mycelia For Low Mana Battles

¡Saludos comunidad! En el reto de esta semana quiero hablarles sobre una estrategia que aplico con el Splinter de Tierra. En partidas con diferentes condiciones de batalla, siempre y cuando permitan el uso de monstruos con daño mágico, y con un límite de maná de 26 o menos. La cual consiste en tomar ventaja en la partida combinando las habilidades: “Magic Reflect”, “Amplify”, “Strengthen” y “Protect”. Las cartas clave que permiten llevar esta estrategia a cabo son: El monstruo “Failed Summoner”, que es del tipo común, y pertenece a la edición Untamed. El monstruo “Epona”, que es del tipo legendario, y pertenece a la edición Dice/Untamed. Y el monstruo “Queen Mycelia”, que es del tipo legendario, y pertenece a la edición Chaos Legion.

Greetings community! In this week's challenge I want to tell you about a strategy I apply with the Earth Splinter. In games with different battle conditions, as long as they allow the use of monsters with magic damage, and with a mana limit of 26 or less. Which consists of taking advantage in the game by combining the abilities: "Magic Reflect", "Amplify", "Strengthen" and "Protect". The key cards that allow this strategy to be carried out are: The "Failed Summoner" monster, which is of the common type, and belongs to the Untamed edition. The "Epona" monster, which is of the legendary type, and belongs to the Dice/Untamed edition. And the "Queen Mycelia" monster, which is of the legendary type, and belongs to the Chaos Legion edition.

Combinar estas cartas, y sus habilidades en partidas con diferentes condiciones de batalla donde siempre y cuando permitan el uso de monstruos con daño mágico, y con un límite de maná de 26 o menos, puede hacer mucho la diferencia en nuestras batallas. Ya que Failed Summoner posee un coste de maná 2, una buena cantidad de vida, y la habilidad “Magic Reflect”. Por otra parte, Epona tiene un coste de maná 1, posee una cantidad de vida un poco menor pero suficiente para resistir unos cuantos turnos, y mediante su habilidad “Strengthen” incrementa en 1 punto la vida de la composición. Por último, Queen Mycelia posee un coste de maná 4, tiene una cantidad de vida aceptable, y cuenta con 1 punto de daño mágico pero además con las habilidades: “Amplify” y “Protect”. Las cuales permiten aumentar el daño mágico reflejado por la habilidad “Magic Reflect” en 1 punto, y agregar 2 puntos de armadura a la composición. Cabe destacar que dependiendo de las circunstancias de la partida, puede complementarse la estrategia con otros monstruos. Por ejemplo, también suelo incluir a monstruos como: “Dr. Blight”,“Djinn Biljka”, “Regal Peryton”, “Scavo Technomancer”, “Khmer Princess” y “Mycelic Morphoid”. Otro aspecto a resaltar es que juego en la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno, uso estas cartas en los niveles que observan en la imagen, y hasta ahora, su desempeño ha sido bastante bueno.

Since Failed Summoner has a mana cost of 2, a good amount of life, and the ability "Magic Reflect". On the other hand, Epona has a mana cost of 1, has a slightly lower amount of life but enough to resist a few turns, and through her "Strengthen" ability increases the life of the composition by 1 point. Finally, Queen Mycelia has a mana cost of 4, has an acceptable amount of life, and has 1 point of magic damage but also has the abilities: "Amplify" and "Protect". These abilities increase the magic damage reflected by the "Magic Reflect" ability by 1 point, and add 2 points of armor to the composition. It should be noted that depending on the circumstances of the game, the strategy can be complemented with other monsters. For example, I also usually include monsters such as: "Dr. Blight", "Djinn Biljka", "Regal Peryton", "Scavo Technomancer", "Khmer Princess" and "Mycelic Morphoid". Another aspect to highlight is that I play in the Silver league in the Modern format, I use these cards in the levels that you can see in the image, and so far, their performance has been quite good.

¡Pasemos a la batalla! Como les mencioné anteriormente, mi estrategia consiste en utilizar dichos monstruos en partidas con estas condiciones, por lo que decidí usar al Splinter de Tierra. Otro aspecto a tener en cuenta es que invocadores como: “Obsidian” y “Mylord Crowling” se ajustan muy bien a la estrategia. En la siguiente imagen pueden observar las condiciones de la partida.

Let's go into battle! As I mentioned before, my strategy is to use such monsters in games with these conditions, so I decided to use the Earth Splinter. Another aspect to take into account is that summoners like: "Obsidian" and "Mylord Crowling" fit very well into the strategy. In the following image you can see the conditions of the game.

Usé a Obsidian como invocador con el propósito de incrementar el daño mágico de la composición. En la Primera posición usé a “Failed Summoner” con la finalidad de proteger al resto de la composición, y retornar parte del daño mágico enemigo. En la Segunda posición usé a Epona con el propósito de proteger al resto de la composición en caso de que el tanque muera, y además dar soporte a la composición mediante su habilidad “Strengthen”. En la Tercera posición usé a “Queen Mycelia” con la finalidad de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea, y además dar soporte soporte a la composición mediante sus habilidades: “Amplify” y “Protect”, las cuales permiten incrementar en 1 un punto el daño causado por la habilidad “Thorns”, y el daño mágico reflejado por la habilidad “Magic Reflect”. En la Cuarta posición usé a Regal Peryton con el propósito de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea, y también proteger al resto de la composición de posibles ataques de tipo “Sneak”. En la Quinta posición usé a “Mycelic Morphoid” con la finalidad de proteger al resto de la composición de posibles ataques de tipo “Sneak”, y además tomar ventaja mediante su habilidad “Thorns”. Por último, usé a Dr. Blight con el propósito de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea, y tomar ventaja de sus habilidades: “Camouflage”, “Poison” y “Affliction”. Como pueden observar, complementé la estrategia con monstruos mencionados anteriormente, mi composición se basa en una ofensiva mágica con el soporte necesario para resistir lo suficiente y hacer la diferencia. En esta oportunidad me tocó enfrentar a la temible “Quora Towershead”, veamos cómo funciona la estrategia…

I used Obsidian as a summoner in order to increase the magic damage of the composition. In the first position I used "Failed Summoner" in order to protect the rest of the composition, and return part of the enemy magic damage. In the second position I used Epona in order to protect the rest of the composition in case the tank dies, and also to support the composition with her "Strengthen" ability. In the third position I used "Queen Mycelia" in order to contribute with damage from the second line, and also to give support to the composition through her abilities: "Amplify" and "Protect", which allow to increase by 1 point the damage caused by the ability "Thorns", and the magic damage reflected by the ability "Magic Reflect". In the fourth position I used Regal Peryton in order to contribute with damage from the second line, and also to protect the rest of the composition from possible "Sneak" attacks. In the fifth position I used "Mycelic Morphoid" in order to protect the rest of the composition from possible "Sneak" attacks, and also to take advantage through his "Thorns" ability. Finally, I used Dr. Blight in order to contribute with damage from the second line, and take advantage of his abilities: "Camouflage", "Poison" and "Affliction". As you can see, I complemented the strategy with monsters mentioned above, my composition is based on a magical offensive with the necessary support to resist enough and make the difference. This time it was my turn to face the fearsome "Quora Towershead", let's see how the strategy works...

En el turno 2 de la ronda 2, Venari Knifer abatió a Mycelic Morphoid. Mi composición aún contaba con 5 monstruos. Y la Quora Towershead enemiga, ya sólo contaba con 2 puntos de vida. El efecto de la habilidad “Affliction” dió una gran ventaja.

On turn 2 of round 2, Venari Knifer took down Mycelic Morphoid. My composition still had 5 monsters. And the enemy Quora Towershead had only 2 health. The effect of the "Affliction" skill gave a big advantage.

Para el turno 3 de la ronda 2, Venari Knifer fue abatido por los efectos de la habilidad “Thorns”. A esta altura de la batalla, el enemigo ya no tenía ninguna posibilidad de hacer la diferencia, puesto que solo contaba con Quora Towershead, y la misma sólo tenía 2 puntos de vida. Mientras que mi composición aún contaba con 5 monstruos. Finalmente, en el turno 7 de la ronda 2, Quora Towershead fue abatida por el daño retornado mediante la habilidad “Magic Reflect”. ¿Qué hizo la diferencia entre las estrategias? El enemigo usó una carta muy poderosa como tanque pero no incluyó en su estrategia habilidades como: “Tank Heal” o “Cleanse” que pudieran dar el soporte necesario ante el escenario de recibir más daño que la cantidad de vida que podía curarse Quora Towershead o evitar los efectos de la habilidad “Affliction”. Lo que resultó en una gran desventaja para él. En las siguientes imágenes pueden observar todo esto.

Finally, on turn 7 of round 2, Quora Towershead was knocked down by the damage returned by the "Magic Reflect" ability. What made the difference between the strategies? The enemy used a very powerful card as a tank but did not include in its strategy abilities such as: "Tank Heal" or "Cleanse" that could give the necessary support in the scenario of receiving more damage than the amount of life that Quora Towershead could heal or avoid the effects of the "Affliction" ability. This resulted in a great disadvantage for him. In the following images you can see all this.
