Follow Me To See Keude Bungkaih Beach, The Beauty That Has Been Lost And Now The Hope That Remains

The beach is one of the tourist destinations that is very popular with the Indonesian people, one of which is Keude Bungkaih beach which is located in North Aceh, where usually in the afternoon many local people visit this beach to enjoy the beach atmosphere with family and friends.

Hello, my friends, wherever you are, I hope you are all healthy and happy so you can go about your daily activities as usual. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

If you've been following my blogs lately, I've shared a few places I've visited in the past few days, one of which is Keude Bungkaih Beach.

My friends...
Beach tourism destinations have become a favorite among the local community. Indonesia is a country with thousands of islands, each with its own unique beauty and stunning beaches, one of which I'll share here. However, the scenery at this beach has faded due to the natural disaster that struck my area a few days ago.

So, please continue to follow my blog to see the current condition of this beach through the images I'll share, as well as short articles from me.

As I mentioned above, a few days ago I took the time to visit a popular beach destination in North Aceh.

The beach is Keude Bungkaih Beach, but the natural disasters that have struck my area in recent months have devastated it. What remains is no longer a place to spend time with friends and family at a beach destination. Instead, it presents a glimpse of the damage caused by the natural disasters that have struck this area in recent months.

This was my first time arriving at the beach. Previously, upon entering, we would have seen various decorations at the entrance gate. However, now the view is empty, a place devoid of visitors, and the remains of the land swept away by the floodwaters.

Now let's try to divert a little attention, which previously on the way to this beach I had felt something unusual, which usually, I met many local people on the way to the beach tourist destination, but on this trip what I saw were soldiers who were busy building temporary housing for people affected by the disaster in the coastal area, these are some pictures that I took which show temporary housing built by the local government to accommodate local people who no longer have a house to live in.

On the journey, I saw roads that were no longer adequate and even in several places, alternative roads had been built, indicating that the roads that were previously inaccessible were no longer accessible because they had been cut off. In addition, I found tents in almost every house, where the tents had accommodated several people who no longer had a place to live due to the damage from the natural disaster that struck.

And as soon as I arrived at the coast, the atmosphere was tense because I saw no signs that this was a tourist destination. While this used to be a very busy place visited by locals to spend time with family and friends, now this place looks like a dead place.

My friend...
Beach tourism destinations are one of the tourist destinations often found in my area, where beautiful beaches are used as destinations by locals, usually visited in the afternoon, and one of them is the beach I am sharing this time. However, now the situation has changed, in this place I no longer find anything and see this is not a tourist destination. Although usually in the area I took this photo, there are many people selling and playing sea rides. Now all that is visible is debris carried by the water and traces of river water that merges with the sea water.

From a distance, I saw countless logs carried by the river to the shore. One of the logs looked unusually large, and I suspected it was decades old.

My friend...
In the past few decades, my area has experienced frequent natural disasters, but this is the most devastating. Furthermore, this is not just a natural disaster; much of the forest has been converted into oil palm plantations, with deforestation at an unnatural rate. I believe this is nature's retribution for the loss of its vital role by us humans. We can see this in the fact that some of the logs washed up on this beach bear silent witness to the forest destruction wrought by human hands.

The situation here has really changed, where previously along the coast I saw several people spending time with their families and also small children happily playing on the coast, but now the view along the coast that I found were tents built by the local government to accommodate refugees because this coastal area was a little safer than they had to build and live under tents in settlements where there were still ruins of buildings.

IMG-20260209-WA0008.jpg

For a moment my steps stopped, I didn't know where else I should go, because my main goal in coming here was to visit and enjoy the atmosphere of the beach tourist destination, but now this place is no longer a tourist destination visited by the public but a temporary place for them to live from the impact of the natural disaster that hit.

And without realizing it, my steps had reached the point where the river current meets the sea. This place was once crowded with anglers and people enjoying the sunset on the beach. Now, this area is left with ruins of buildings and a little stagnant water due to the impact of the natural disaster.

Honestly, for me, this is a very sad sight and far from the view I imagined when I first traveled to this tourist destination.

I can no longer capture the beauty of the beach area because I can't see it. Now, only a few people are seen contemplating it, and I haven't even seen fishermen on the shore.

These are some images that show the damage and impact of the natural disaster that struck this area in recent months. It's important to note that this is one of thousands of locations affected. Even now, they still have no certainty about where they will live or what to do next.

Okay, friends, those are some images and a brief post from me on this blog. I feel that this blog might be considered offensive within the community, considering that this blog shows the precarious conditions and atmosphere faced in this coastal area rather than the beauty of the places I visit on my usual blogs. However, I apologize for not being able to share the beauty of this beach destination. As you can see, this place is no longer a beach destination, but rather a place where people have taken refuge after the disaster struck.

I think that's enough for this blog. I ask for your prayers for our brothers and sisters affected by this natural disaster. I hope they recover quickly and we can see the beauty of this region again someday.

Thank you very much to all of you who have taken the time to view and read my blog to the end.
Please leave your comments, support, and input, which means a lot to me so I can make this blog even better in the future.

See you in my next blog.
