Problems in the bird canteen

Hello, my friends.

Hi, friends of birds.

All good things come to an end. And it seems to me that the better it is, the faster it comes to an end.
That's the end of our Russian winter holiday holidays. I have to go to work tomorrow. But today I was still watching the birds outside the window.
The jays who flew to the feeder for the first time on January 1 behave very impolitely. They do not let small birds near the feeder, they eat almost all the food that I put in the feeders. I understand that if this continues, I will have to make feeders out of plastic bottles or something similar. The main thing is that the jays can't get to the feed. Or try to look for other bird food that the jays won't eat. But sunflower seeds are the most favorite and affordable food for birds. This is a universal food.

I poured ground wheat and millet into the feeders. For a whole week I didn't hang pieces of lard on a tree, but today I decided that I should try to hang them so that the jays couldn't get to these pieces. The tits were very happy about this.

Of course, after a while, the jays also appeared. But it was difficult for them to get to the lard, although they bit off a small piece of lard. It is possible that they would have eaten more lard, but they were frightened by the kite that appeared. Yes. He flashed like lightning 2 times among the branches of a tree and also quickly flew away. No one was hurt this time. The tits managed to fly apart. And the jays also got out of the tree

By the way, the length of a sunny day is already 2 minutes per day! I think that in a month I will go outside at the end of the working day and it will still be relatively light. And the birds will also immediately become more fun. Especially if there is a sun in the sky.
I wish all Russians a successful start to the working week. Start working gradually, friends!

Hello..!
@apnigrich
I have the same issue with the Jays. They dominate my feeders not allowing the smaller birds to land and eat. The Jays eat and empty the feeders fast. Often I will go out and scare them away but they return quickly..!!
I hadn't thought of doing/making something with plastic bottles. 🤔I have an empty platic bottle in my pantry.
🌞 Most wonderful and welcome the days are getting a little longer.

I cut a hole from the side of the bottle and pour the feed there. And I open the window and the jays fly away. and then they arrive again.
I leave a visor over the hole. It protects food from snow and rain
