Its sad to see that 120 years of Federation have been undone and the nation of Australia is no more.
Instead there is a collection of penal colonies which imprison their citizens and won't let them leave, even on compassionate grounds.
My parents (who live in Sydney) were all prepared with presents etc to visit my brother and their grandkids in Noosa when the QLd Premier closed the border, in complete defiance of the Australian Constitution - and no one challenges this.
My Mum wants to come to visit us in Israel to help with out 3 littlies over the summer holidays - Australia won't let her leave, despite the fact that we have no other family support and kindergartens are closed.
It is evil to imprison law abiding citizens and stop them visiting family.
Australia has completely over-reacted to a relatively minor disease that is only dangerous to a very limited segment of the population (the very old and sick who will die of something relatively soon in any case).
Yes the situation is not great for everyone especially for the grandparents who like your case can't see the little ones. My in laws couldn't see my ones back in March for 2 months cos they were stuck in Europe then having the lockdown in Sydney was rough.
Let's hope this passes quickly and our lives gets back to normal.
