I Crocheted a Yarn Slipper for a Friends Wife but Through Quarrel

Hello Hivers.

Today's Monday is actually a good start for every #NeedleWorkMonday community member who’s into the Needle Work business because for me I meet an old friend today in my needlework office with her wife and I was unable to recognize him as it started with a quarrel.

A few days ago, a female customer brought a job for me as she needed me to work on a crocheted slipper for her. We bargained for the work and in the end, we settled on a specific price. We both agreed that she will collect the yarn crocheted slipper on Saturday last week but because of the rainy weather within my needlework environment. I was unable to complete the yarn-crocheted slipper for her.

That Saturday evening last week that we both agreed that she will be collecting the yarn crocheted slipper which I did for her. She came in the evening time that Saturday for the slipper and discovered that I was not done with the work. I explained to her that the weather messed up the work by making me not finish the yarn-crocheted slipper for her. I also explained to her that if not for the high cost of an oven drying machine in the market I'm planning to have at least one at the moment to enable me to work well during the rainy season. The female customer agreed with me and left.

Today being Monday, do you know what actually happened? The female customer came this afternoon for the yarn-crocheted slipper that I was doing for her. When she entered my needlework office, she didn’t even greet me or my team. All she did was start insulting me and that she forgives me on Saturday and I still have the mind to fail her on Sunday which was the first day of the week. I told her that I don’t usually work on Sundays but only on the working days except on special orders. She was quarreling and told me that she came to my office on Sunday looking for that I should have told her that I don’t work those days.

In the process of the customer shouting, I was doing my best to calm her down and explain more to her. A man came out from the same car the lady came out from before entering my needlework office and was also shouting at me that why are my harassing his wife and making her shout with her few months pregnant. The man told me that most needle workers are not to be trusted because they always fail.

In the process of me coming closer to him to explain better, he sighted me and removed the glass he was wearing, and called me by the name that they used to know me with during my NYSC one-year service in Makurdi Benue State. I was actually astonished to hear such a name but in the end, he was my roommate during our service year.

I and the man hugged each other to an extent that his wife was astonished too about what was going on. The husband told the wife to please collect the yarn crocheted slipper which I worked on for her since I finished it today and it’s even colorful.

After the wife collected the yarn crocheted slipper which I finished today, I took him and the wife out because it has been a long I meet with the husband after years of NYSC service. This was how we went out and discussed and we both were happy to see each other again.

I learned something great today because I now understand why some people used to say that nobody knows tomorrow because I never imagined that I will see an old friend again after so many years. Please everyone should be mindful of the people you meet and how you treat them.

Before I close, I actually want to plead with @crosheille and other admins of the community because for now, I know that your eyes would be when I will be presenting my WIP challenge. Well, I'm trying to fix everything at once and present them.

Materials and Tools Used in Making the Yarn Slipper:

I used a red yarn material.

I used white leather for the downside.

I used a black sole.

A yarn pin was used.

Sandpaper was used.

I used a sharp scissor for cutting leather.

Lightening matches were used.

Hammer and gum were also used.

Procedures used in crocheting the slipper:

I determined the type and color of the yarn slipper to be crocheted.

Getting the whole materials ready was a priority.

Taking proper measurements was determined.

I cut the leather to be crocheted with.

I started crocheting gradually.

I sandpapered bot crocheted leather and sole smoothly.

I placed the sandpapered sole and crocheted leather under the sun.

I have to fix the completed work of the yarn slipper and hit it slightly with a hammer.
