DIY I Just Crocheted a Slipper for my Chief Brides Maid When I Wedded

I crocheted a slipper for the lady who performed as chief bride maid during my wedding some years ago. The lady was also a close friend to my wife because even when I was still going on a date with my wife she once told my wife not to accept my date but my wife turned her down.

My wife's friend who performed as the chief bride made years ago during my wedding visited me and my wife in Makurdi Benue state. When I and my wife welcomed her friend, she was happy to inform us that she’ll soon be getting married as God has remembered her. I and my wife wished her well and promised to attend the wedding.

As my wife's friend was going around the house this morning, she saw some customers' foot wears which I have already crocheted to distribute to them because they’re close to my house. She asked my wife if I’m into crocheting of foot wears because she’s already in love with the ones she has seen around my house. My wife told her yes.

After my wife told her friend yes that I’m into crocheting of foot wears and other things, she came to me and asked me to crochet a slipper for her which I bargained price with her. I never wanted to crochet the slipper and give it to her as a gift because I know that I’ll do something surprising for her with my crocheting skill as a gift before her marriage will take place. I reduced the cost of crocheting the slipper for her because she did great during my wedding.

Today, I’m happy as I was able to finish crocheting the slipper for her according to her description. Indeed, I called her on phone to come and check the outlook of the slipper which I crocheted for her. When my wife's friend came t my crocheting office, she confirmed and loved the blue-colored yarn-made slipper I crocheted for her as she said she never believed that I can do something unique like the outcome of the slipper.

My wife's friend also confirmed that when she knew me years ago that I have nothing to do with crocheting but only electrical and photography. I told her that I learned crocheting during my one-year NYSC in Makurdi where I'm based now with my family and I have been getting more knowledge about crocheting through a friend and a boss @crosheille through NeedleWorkMonday.

Materials and tools used in crocheting the slipper are below:

A blue yarn.

African-made leather.

African-made shoe sole.

Yarn pin and needle.

Scissors for cutting yarn and leather.

Gum.

Hammer.

How I crocheted the slipper is as follows:

I have to make sure that the complete materials to be used for the crocheting of the slipper are provided.

I have to take the sample size she gave to me and measure it with the leather I’m using.

I have to cut the leather I’m using according to the size of her leg as measured.

I have to place my hand accordingly and start crocheting the slipper using yarn and leather.

I have to make sure that the crocheting of the slipper suit the design that the lady requested.

I have to sandpaper the shoe sole and the leather which I have crocheted at the top.

I have to apply some gum on the shoe sole and leather.

I have to place the shoe sole and the leather which I have gummed under the sun.

I have to fix the leather which I have crocheted with the shoe sole.
