DIY Just Crocheted a Head Electrical Plier with the Help of #NeedleWorkMonday
Hello Hivers.
I will like to introduce you to one of my skills before I was able to learn needlework/shoemaking. Considering how strong my country is for survival, I was able to venture into electrical for house wiring. It took me about 4 years to learn to skill under my master but for years now I have been on my own.
Before I finished University, I discovered that electrical work in Nigeria is competitive that before you will be able to get any job it will take a long time. That effect during my NYSC, I was looking for what to attach to the electrical skill to enable me to provide constant food for my family.
This was how a friend of my then in Nwannune NYSC orientation camp introduced me to shoemaking. As am talking to you now, I have so many shoemaking shops that I am controlling with multiple teams.
Then when I joined Hive, I didn’t know the area to focus but one day I saw a post made @crosheille which was displayed on hot search. I followed and opened the post which gave me a link to the #NeedleWorkMonday community I am in today. Joining the community is one of the greatest achievements I have ever gotten joining Hive because as of today I can boost with confidence that I now have different knowledge to crochet multiple works.
With the knowledge gotten from the community, I looked at the plier that I used for the cutting and connections of wires and I noticed that if I can actually crochet slippers, earrings, and bags, and also others in the community can do so many things using yarn. Of course, I should also think outside the box. This was how I come up with the idea of crocheting the head of my electrical plier.
Purpose of crocheting Electrical Plier:
Why I chose to crochet the head electrical plier was because it will help the plier last long.
The yarn used for the crocheting of the electrical plier will not allow moisture or rust to quickly attack the plier.
A user finger of the plier or any sharp object will not be allowed to destroy the back rubber used in coating the metals of the plier through the help of the yarn material used to crochet the plier's head.
It helps to give the user more confidence during display for electrical work.
Challenges encountered during the crocheting:
Since the plier was already coated with rubber, it was difficult for me to determine how the yarn will hold the plier without pulling out.
The time and energy spent to crochet the electrical plier head is more than the one I used in making earrings and sometimes slippers.
Materials and tools used for the crocheting:
Yarn is a common crocheting material that determines the beauty and outcome of any crocheting work. I used three colors of yarn in order to make the electrical plier head more attractive.
A yarn pin is a common tool used for the crocheting of diverse needlework.
Scissors are a sharp cutting tool used for the cutting of yarn after crocheting.
A lighter match is what I used to bring out the fire for the trimming mouth of the yarn after I finished crocheting the head electrical plier.
The procedures I considered for the crocheting are as follows:
I first developed the idea.
I provided the materials.
I crocheted a little and then count the number of my crocheting.
I crocheted outside the plier and then wear them to the plier to avoid slippering.
I then close the mouth of the yarn.
Ohhh yoy did a great idea to your tool. It´s nice
Big thanks for the compliment dear friend.
*Wow really amazing @apunawu and this will be so helpful because using this tool to work over time it'll the pain come but with this I think it will prevent those kind of issues thanks for sharing @apunawu
Big thanks for the compliment bro.
Ya welcome @apunawu
