Needlework: Making a U-turn From a Customers Demand To Favor My Wife Was Wrong

Two days ago, a female customer placed a demand for clean knitted slippers that should be made for her from my shoemaking team, unfortunately, we couldn’t start the knitting that day but I make sure that the required materials are provided.

When the customer placed the demand for the slippers to be knitted for her, she gave me the description of her size and how clean she wants the slippers to look. When the customer was busy describing the slippers look, I was totally lost because of how she described the slippers to look but at the end of the business discussion. I was able to understand what she really wants.

By the time the customer was living that same day from my shop, she was able to clear the total money for the slippers to be knitted for her. Because of my policy in shoemaking that once a customer makes a complete payment for his/her work we must be able to finish the work by all means.

Following that same policy of my shoemaking team, we were not able to even start the customer's slippers that same day because other customers work that demanded first not minding that most of them didn’t pay completely. To be honest with you, why I didn’t bother much about the customer wear was that she was never in haste for the work.

Yesterday Saturday, I and my ream have to start knitting and doing other processes to make sure that the work was complete for the customer so that she will not be able to lay any negative complaints about my shoemaking work.

Unfortunately for me and my team, the lady whom we are knitting slippers for came in for the slippers. When the lady came into the shop, i and my team was just washing the lady to see whether she will be angry but not. The only thing she commented was that “are we not done with the work” and I responded immediately no.
She didn’t bother to say anything but that the color and shape of the slippers is really beautiful after she saw one of the slipper's legs that were already complete.

The lady was waiting for the slippers so that she can go along with them but in the process of her waiting for the slippers to be complete, heavy rain started till evening. She saw that we already finished knitting and every other thing that has to do with the making of the slippers but one thing was just remaining. That thing was how to gum the slippers because no sun. The lady left with her car and told me that she will call today Sunday to get the slippers.

Unfortunately for me, when I brought out the slippers in my house today when the sun came out. As I finished rubbing gum on them and placing them under the sun, my wife saw the slippers and told me if that was for her and I said no that it is for a customer.

The beauty and the attractive color of the knitted slippers couldn’t allow my wife to pass and all she did was for me to leave the slippers for her and do another one for the customer and I replied no. My wife became very angry. I didn’t want to quarrel with my wife because I know full well that women, in general, love good things. I explained the whole thing to my wife and made her understand that business is business and family a family. She finally agreed with me.

The customer later called and collected her slippers with happiness.

Sandpaper.

Light matches.

Hammer.
