Fungi Friday - Exotic Wood Fungus

Hi friends who love mushrooms, I'm very happy that I still have the opportunity to share some photos of mushrooms with friends for the #FungiFriday challenge organized by @ewkaw.

Lately in the area where I live it has become increasingly difficult to find mushrooms because the dry season has started to arrive and for the past 2 weeks there has been no heavy rain where we live which has made many mushrooms start to wither and die.

However, I didn't want to give up hunting for beautiful mushrooms, after almost 1 hour of looking for mushrooms I finally found a species of beautiful mushroom that grew on a piece of wood that had been submerged in a puddle of water for a long time.

We call this mushroom the wood mushroom because this mushroom has a hard texture and can grow for days without water. This mushroom has beautiful petals that face upwards. If you look closely, the petals are very similar to the texture of wood and have small hairs. all over the circle of petals.

The structure of the bottom of this mushroom also looks very exotic and is shaped like a honeycomb. These mushrooms also grow close together like a couple who love each other. Unfortunately, this mushroom cannot be consumed because it is poisonous.

Then, on the other side of this small piece of wood, there is also another mushroom which is no less beautiful and exotic. If you look at it at a glance, it looks like this mushroom has a different type if you look at its shape, which is smaller and has a brighter color.

This mushroom grows alone and has a color that looks fresher, like the color of real honey. However, after I looked more closely with the Macro Lens that I attached to my Smartphone camera, it turned out that this mushroom species was the same as the 2 mushrooms above.

However, the size of this mushroom is only smaller and looks cuter, plus the petals of this mushroom also have very beautiful fine hairs.

These are the mushrooms I hunted for today's Fungi Friday, see you next Friday.
