Replacing your own motorbike battery at home

After 4 years of use, finally the battery power of my beloved Vario 150 motorbike has run out, which is natural considering that the battery life has reached its limit.

Because the motorbike couldn't be started, I finally decided to buy the battery at a spare parts shop and replace the battery myself at home. I deliberately wanted to replace the motorbike battery myself because I also like tinkering with motorbikes as a hobby that has been hidden for a long time.

Today I bought an original AHM battery or Honda Segarga manufacturer Rp. 290,000 or the equivalent of 18.43 USD. When I arrived home, I immediately opened the battery cover located on the foot step of the motorbike using a screwdriver.

After pulling out several cables on the old battery, I finally managed to remove the old battery involved which was very old.

Before installing the new battery, I first cleaned the dust in the battery compartment so that it was clean again and when the new battery was installed it would not be hampered by the dust in the battery compartment.

Then I immediately took some small nuts and bolts that were available in the battery box so that I could properly tie the battery cables to the cables on the motorbike.

After finishing installing the new battery, before closing the cover, I cleaned the dust on the top of the battery again using a small brush.

After feeling that the battery was installed perfectly, I immediately closed the battery cover again using the bolt.

Now it was time for the tense moment to begin, whether my motorbike could start again or not. So I started the motorbike, the motorbike speedometer immediately started and when I started the motorbike, my motorbike engine immediately started well, which means the new battery that I just installed was working well.

This is my experience of installing my own motorbike battery at home. It turns out that replacing a motorbike battery is very easy, and most importantly I can save costs if I install the battery myself.

Don't forget, I also tried to turn on the main lights, turn signals and horn to see if they were functioning perfectly, and it turned out that everything was safe and working perfectly.

After warming up my motorbike's engine for a few minutes because I hadn't started it for 2 days, now I immediately took my motorbike out to work as usual.

This is my mechanic's activity when replacing a motorbike battery, see you in the next post.
