0.35 Cent the savior || Valuable Life Lessons

A time where I learned valuable life lessons and cannot be forgotten. Without realizing it, tears fell from my eyes, and I feel grateful for what God has given me so far.

On the way back home this early morning, I saw an old friend who was riding a motorbike coming from the opposite direction. Suddenly I called him and we stopped to greet each other. He was shocked and rushed to his stop and called out to me too.

Then we chatted on the side of the road and I felt my friend looked really messy. But I didn't want to ask because I didn't want to offend him. Long story short, after a while of talking, we wanted to continue our respective journeys. But suddenly his motorcycle broke down because it ran out of fuel. And his face turned even more desperate. The motorbike was borrowed and he had to return it at a moment's notice, but he was confused because he couldn't afford to buy fuel.

Guys believe it or not, at that time I only had 0.35cent in my pocket. Then I gave it to him to buy some fuel, at least the motor could start again, so he can continue his journey to the destination. But besides using the money to buy fuel, he asked me to tow his motorbike to my house to rest, because our location is not far from my house. But I told him, why don't you buy fuel with the money you have and then return the motorbike, and after that, I will take you home. but he didn't answer my question. But I kept asking because I felt there was something wrong that made him look really messy.

And in the end, he told me the problem was that the electricity in his house had been out all day and at that time his wife and child slept without electricity. And he had no money at all to pay his bills. And he said he couldn't go home if he didn't come home with money. That's why he is trying to do something to earn money so he can pay his electricity bill. He was confuse what should he do with this 0.35 cent, either buy fuel for this motorbike or save it and collect it to pay for electricity

My heart was broken when I heard that because I don't believe there are friends who are in trouble and I can't do anything to help him, also at the same time I'm grateful for what I have right now. Although I have been unemployed for a long time, living in economic difficulties. But it turns out, there are other people who are far more difficult than me.

Then I had an idea and I towed the motorbike to my friend's roadside stall, and I owed fuel there. Then I went home because I had my last $1 which I saved to fuel for my motorbike, which was running low also. But I decided to prioritize helping him first and I can think about it later.

At that time he was unable to speak like he wanted to cry, then he thanked me very much and he said, when he met me on the street, it was like seeing an angel because he had left aimlessly in despair. And he said if we didn't meet earlier, maybe I was alone on the street, the motorbike broke down and I had to push my motorbike which had no destination.

I said don't thank me, in fact, I feel very guilty for not being able to fully help to solve your problem. And our meeting has been arranged by God, so thank God.

He is my childhood friend and we had success at the same time. In the past right before the pandemic, we met and had coffee together and shared about the success we had achieved. And now we are devastated at the same time, and for the same reason, which is Covid. And we are still struggling until now, then met again on the streets with 0.35 cents who became our helper.

But at least, in the brief moment of our conversation, we laughed together because it felt funny when discussing what we were going through right now. And 0.35 cents had helped us at that time, which was never imagined before.

Understand and believe, whatever we are facing difficulties or happiness, it is all temporary, there will come a time when all that will change. Those who are in trouble one day will turn into happy and vice versa.
