I recently decided to watch the new adaptation of Little House on the Prairie, a series with 8 episodes in total, of which I’ve already enjoyed the first three. Watching it stirred up a wonderful sense of nostalgia, bringing back memories of the ’70s when I was a little girl and this story was a big part of my childhood and adolescence. Although I’m not sure I watched the entire series back then, I do remember following Laura Ingalls’ journey as she grew into a young woman. After doing a little research, I’m truly amazed by the sheer scale of that original production, which spanned nine seasons with more than 20 episodes each—a titanic and admirable undertaking!

sourceAs for the cast, the young girl playing Laura is simply fantastic: very funny, smart, and extremely charismatic. The actor who took on the role of Charles has all the gravitas and presence the character needs—not to mention Caroline. For her part, Mary retains that same endearing sweetness that I remember so well from the series of my childhood.

Verla me despertó una hermosa nostalgia, trayéndome a la memoria aquellos años 70 cuando era una niña y esta historia acompañó gran parte de mi niñez y adolescencia. Aunque no estoy segura de haberla visto por completo en su momento, sí recuerdo haber seguido el crecimiento de Laura Ingalls hasta convertirse en mujer. Investigando un poco, me impresiona enormemente pensar en la magnitud de aquella producción original, que contó con 9 temporadas y más de 20 episodios cada una; ¡una labor titánica y admirable!
FuenteEsta nueva versión conserva intacta toda la calidez de la original, e incluso me atrevería a decir que la supera gracias a los recursos técnicos con los que cuenta la producción actual. La fotografía es verdaderamente hermosa, envolviéndonos en los paisajes con una delicadeza única.
FuenteEn cuanto al elenco, la niña que interpreta a Laura es simplemente fantástica: muy divertida, inteligente y sumamente carismática. El actor que asumió el papel de Charles tiene todo el peso y la presencia que el personaje necesita, y ni hablar de Caroline.
