Shades of Illumination: Dance of Light and Shadow| #Smash 312

Standing in a park on a night under the street lamp, she saw her shadow being made. She took her phone out of her pocket of her jeans and took a picture. She overlooked her shadow for a long time. Then she looked up at the street lamp. She jumped to the other place under the lamp. She realized that blocking the light was causing this shadow. She stared at the dark sky above her. And then at the strange shadow of her. After staring at it for a long time, she started to walk back home. While walking, she saw a joker. So many kids around him were laughing hysterically at the stunts that the jokers showed them and that classic funny joker face made children laugh and giggle. The Joker acting happily in front of kids in the street. The Joker and the kids also had shadows but she paid attention to the Joker's shadow only. She could see the sadness in the joker's eye and in a second, she realized that shadows are with the people to tell that what we perceive may not always be the complete truth and there may be hidden depths beyond what meets the eye.

Later, while walking, she stared at her shadow on the pavement, she touched it, but she couldn't hold it. She moved back, it was bigger. She started walking, it started moving as well. She switched sides, nervously, the shadow never left. It was there, looking at her in the eye, hauntingly but present.

Shadows are the unconscious and the hidden aspect of ourselves, our minds and our bodies, that we do not fully understand. But shadows never leave us. Whether it's our own or someone's wicked thoughts that stay in our subconscious minds. But shadows stay. Shadows never leave. Shadows tell us about the darkness we have. And the light we have. And the darkness of our thoughts that stops us from holding that light.
