"Luxury House" [3d viz project]

avatar

It’s been a week since I posted here and so I wanted to showcase a personal project of mine that I’ve been working for a very long time now. It’s probably one of the projects that took me the longest time for me to accomplish. It isn’t a really difficult project per se but it took me a while to determine the direction of my design process. I had too many revisions since I’m not convinced with the kind of look that I wanted to accomplish.

Another reason that prolongs my process is my selection of 3d assets that went into the scene.

Firstly, the 3d trees that I used are memory intensive. It means that most of them are extremely detailed and they took a substantial amount of time to render. And I have a variety of them in this scene. I think I used about 10 types of heavily detailed 3d trees. With the laptop computer that I have, my rig is struggling to render a single image.

The basic specs of my laptop are:

Windows 8.1 64-bit
Intel Core i7
16gig RAM

A 10-year old machine like this is not good enough to handle a scene beyond what I did in this 3d project. And if I add a few more assets, the rendering process will crash before it completes the final result:

Below is the render process breakdown:

Aside from the front view, I also rendered additional views to show the other views of the house:

In this view, I showed the other side of the house from the swimming pool. As I have mentioned in my previous posts, I almost always make sure to add water element to my 3d scene. It makes it more interesting, especially the reflection in particular.

The reflection is actually a time & memory saver for the 3d scene. It requires no memory and only requires very little for the software to calculate the rendering process.

That's all I have for now.

I hope you find it interesting and thank you for your support to my post!

P.S.
It looks like the attached images are not showing as quick as it used to, there is some sort of delay in displaying images.

Is this vray? I'm rendering a basketball stadium right now in vray using chaos cloud. Saves on render time and its only 50 cents a credit right now which basically means around 1 1920x1080 rendering at high settings is 50 cents to render.

Yes I'm using vray for rendering. Chaos Cloud is like a render farm right?

50c for that resolution is such a good deal especially for a professional project.

Yeah Chaos Cloud is by the makers of vray. I've tried a few different farms but they aren't as reliable as chaos cloud. Price is pretty good right now especially if you have some kind of flythrough to render.

Looks really good! What software did you use? Blender? Maya? Or is there something special for architecture?

Hi! Thanks for the compliments.

About your question, I've used a bunch of softwares & plugins. For the House it's Revit Architecture while other architectural elements us using 3DSmax.

Some of the trees are pre-made stuff while for some trees I used Tree generator plugin for 3DSmax.

The rendering was done in 3DSmax using Vray as the render engine.

My procedure is quite complicated ;)

That is stunning!!! Sucks that your laptop is causing you some delays or you are having some limitations with the looks. Hope you get a more powerful pc soon!

I made a mistake choosing laptop over PC since I can't upgrade it. I hope that I can get a PC someday. Thanks for dropping-by :)

Was going to ask if compositing would help but you're probably already doing that. That's pretty impressive for a decade old rig O_O

It may take a while but least you have 3d assets to select, I'm still in the building stage XD

I've been collecting & building 3d stuff for quite some time now and it's a relief to have a wide variety.

Thanks for the comment 😊
