😲 I Never Thought Being a Catholic is Fun Until...

Yep, gone are the days when I lived my life as a lukewarm Catholic. Apparently, repentance and a renewal of faith is the key. πŸ˜‚ Once that happened voila! I have found some new things to enjoy that I never thought I would. I feel like a new person indeed that sometimes it surprises me! πŸ˜²πŸ˜…

For context, I believe not everyone will be able to relate to what I will share here. The old me wouldn't either. A lukewarm religious person (like I was) wouldn't give a flying eff about these things. I know I wouldn't because I wouldn't even be able relate at all. The humor or what the experience is like would have been lost to me if I saw these before Lent this year.

I mean, come on being passionate about God or Jesus is something most cradle Catholics/Christians aren't. I've been there, done that and hello new me is happy to say goodbye to my old self.

(Of course I am not too deep in the faith yet like the most devout Catholics. I am nowhere near being a saint either. I have much to learn and do but I am working towards that goal day by day. Everyone is also welcome to join us and find the joy in our faith.)

Now, what makes being a devout Catholic fun or enjoyable? Not talking about the super traditional ones okay. Let's just say this is what happens when your spiritual level upgrades. πŸ˜‰

😁 Catholic and Christian Video Memes

First up is this one! I never knew about such content before, like for real. Yeah it's all over TikTok apparently but I discovered them on YouTube. Not sorry but TikTok ain't for me. It's gonna suck the life out of you if you let it. πŸ˜‚

Anyway so I first learned about such fun short vids on YouTube. Ariel Fitz' TikToks were reviewed by Upon Friar Review and whoa I could relate and laugh while watching! πŸ˜‚

Because I watched such and found more Ariel Fitz' Shorts, other Christian funny content started getting suggested on my feed. That's how I also got to watch JoeChristianGuy's Shorts. Ah it's just fun to laugh when watching short video skits. πŸ˜†

πŸ€ͺ Catholic memes

Gotta thank the Facebook Page Catholic Memes for this one. I didn't even know there's such with funny content. I mean, hey why was I living under a rock for so long? πŸ˜‚ Forgot how I found the page but I'm real glad I did!

The page shares memes about the Catholic life. Some of them I still could not relate to because you know... I'm not that hardcore yet it seems. πŸ˜‚ But here are some of the ones that made me laugh.

😍 Bring On the Catholic and Christian Shows!

Wow there's a fire in my belly (not literally πŸ˜†) that seems to grow daily. I mean, I want more and more of Jesus or anything about God, be it movies, TV shows or documentaries. At some point I can't help but think maybe I'm becoming something derisive people call a "Jesus freak". Omg. Hahaha.

Aside from the funnies, I've watched more Catholic and religious movies and shows this year than in my entire life. Seriously. πŸ˜† Want proof? I've seen all of these and more. (This list doesn't include the many talks of priests that I've watched on YouTube 😜)

  • Divine Mercy: Sa Buhay ni Sister Faustina (In the Life of Sr. Faustina) (Donita Rose, Christopher De Leon)
  • The Prince of Egypt (rewatched 2x in Spanish dub)
  • Tastetimony (cooking talk show with celebrity guests, etc.)
  • The Gospel of Luke
  • Liwanag sa Dilim (Light in the Dark), A Documentary on Exorcism *
  • Paul, Apostle of Christ
  • Jesus Revolution
  • The Chosen, Season 3
  • From Jesus to Christ *
  • I TRUST IN YOU. The message of Divine Mercy, St. Faustina's story *
  • The Extraordinary Life of Padre Pio: Unveiling his Mysteries and Miracles *
  • The Mission (Robert de Niro, Jeremy Irons)

. * documentaries

And here's some that aren't quite or entirely Catholic (or Christian) but has some elements of it. After all I enjoy watching action/adventure including fantasy and sci-fi shows. Last one in the list is a romantic comedy movie I only watched out of curiosity.

  • Island (KDrama)
  • Sound of Freedom
  • Colloseum (documentaries)
  • Maging Sino Ka Man (Whoever You May Be)

Oh boy I know I've forgotten some but heck I wanna watch more. haha. I'm lovin' all the Catholic content I see. If you're an active Catholic / Christian for sure you'll understand why I feel this way now.

These days anything about God is worth watching or listening to more than anything else. How about you? What makes being an active Catholic (or Christian) fun and enjoyable?

I liked the memes! This one with the late fish is great!
I give myself the freedom to laugh at my religion (Catholic), but I wouldn't make fun of other people's beliefs, the world is very different and looking for reasons to punish us.

you did well in this, keep !luv and !lol

Yeah. Never thought there are such memes until I found that page. True that we shouldn't make fun of other people's beliefs, unfortunately regardless of religion some still keep doing it. Smh

Anyway thanks!
