When You Finally Realize Your National Heroes Were Freemasons... 😱

Oh boy... I didn't think I'd get to this point but here I am. What a shocker to realize this today! And I've been down the rabbit hole online for a bit and my oh my... I wanna write about this so bad. Haha.

Actually the further I go the worse it gets! I just found out something this morning out of an old email about a Jose Rizal exhibit years ago. (For those unfamiliar, he's the national hero of the Philippines, as declared by the American colonizers who bought PH from Spain.)

The email has a link to a YouTube playlist about the time the guy lived in Germany, writing the famed novels. With my new set of Christian eyes I eventually realized the truth: He is indeed a freemason! OH NO!!! 😱 And then after a quick search online I find out most of the Filipino heroes were freemasons too! DOUBLE EXPLETIVES!

As a lukewarm Catholic, I didn't care what being a freemason meant. Been reading/hearing about it in passing for decades but meh. Why bother with that tidbit about the national hero? Not interesting at all back in the day.

Fast forward to now that I know more about Catholicism. The fact that world history and religion truly come hand in hand. Omg. I just cannot believe what's been happening for centuries! My mind can't help it, I have to write more about this "shocking discovery"!

This is why Freemasonry vs. Catholicism or more historical and religious topics are possibly also coming up next! 😂 Or maybe it's gonna be Freemasonry vs. Opus Dei? Hmmm. 🤔 I wrote a little about the latter organization in an older post but haven't really delved deeper. Simply because I don't know a lot about it yet. Haha.

But man the things I'm learning from world history and religion day by day. I'm shocked because this is right at home! And it's not in a favorable light at all unlike the La Naval victories during the 17th century! Like, come on, what in the world is going on? 😅 Makes me think maybe I should just get a Masters Degree in Anthropology or Humanities or something. Haha.

Or maybe this is just another passing fancy, I dunno. Like that time I wanted to study Master in Marine Biology or related to it even though I have issues with swimming in the sea. Lol.

Ah the things I learn because I'm not a tepid cradle Catholic anymore. Thank you Lord!
