Hello friends,

How did it all start?

We lived in the isolation from march of 2020 through Sepember of 2020, and hoped that 2021 would bring us joy and relief…

Unfortunately 2021 wasn’t that friendly. 2021 wasn’t easy for my family. This year I lost my father. The saddest part for me was that I couldn’t travel to his funerals in March, because the flights were getting canceled and I was afraid to get stuck at the airport for who knows how long. Most of our relatives went through COVID-19. I know several people who lost their closest once due to coronavirus complications.

This year as my kids went on their winter break, both of them got sick, one after another. I always catch whatever they have because I can’t stop hugging and kissing them, especially when they are sick and need it the most. Our vacation time was partially ruined because of the sickness. We still were able to travel some with a few scary and at the same time funny adventures, and I’m thankful for those moments.

2021 was hard and challenging, it was heartbreaking, but it could be worse. I want to be thankful for what we have, for those relatives that made it, for kids’ teachers being creative in the way they adjusted to our new normal, and for my dear husband, who is always there for me.

Now about my hopes for 2022.

This year I was teaching art lessons more than the year before, or for some reason it feels like it. I am tired of spending more time teaching, than doing stuff with my own kids. I wasn’t making a lot of money anyway, it was more like a pocket money rather than earning. So I’m thinking this year about either taking a half year off or leaving just one or two students.

I want to spend more quality time with my kids and want to concentrate on learning more about digital art, maybe taking a course or two. I’m into Procreate program, and at the end of the year I got lucky to participate in a few free digital marathons. It was very interesting experience for me and I enjoyed it a lot. I don’t know yet what for I will be using my new skills but it’s never too much when it’s something we enjoy in a good way, right?

I also want to concentrate more on my Hive blog and learn how to make better content. I never really attended any blogging courses, so if experienced hive users see some imperfections here, I’m sorry for that, and I’m glad you didn’t get to see my first posts in 2018 on Steemit, that was embarrassing :-)

I spend a lot of time reading posts from experienced bloggers here, trying to get the tips but I also try not to ignore the very beginners. I know how it’s hard for them, because I was in their shoes. I really believe that new comers, who begin their blogging from something simple, can grow into good writers or photography-lovers, and art creators. I’m noticing a few of them are getting better at their content, getting higher quality photos, and adding a few more words each time. They are coming out of their shell and I think they need some time to learn. So I encourage you friends to be a little more patient with them and give them some more time. Just like you gave me opportunity to grow and someone gave you opportunity to grow let’s be kind and patient with them.

At the end I want to thank you friends, who supported me with your upvotes, comments and reblogs. I wish you all the best, may all your dreams come true in 2022. May Hive community grow and become strong and stable like it was never before. Love you all, @artmom.

Sorry about your dad, I am sure he is a better place now. It’s good to hope and believe that it will always get better. This year is definitely going to be better than last year.

I wish you good luck on the digital art you are trying to learn, and on spending more time with your kids.

Enjoy a better year ahead, my regards to your husband as well
