A Garden with a view

I took a walk through some gardens in Hive Garden Community and was intrigued with the beauty and effort gardeners put into them...so I thought I'd stray away from my own garden and take you on a little excursion along the Garden Path of a beautiful tranquil spot, not far from where I live, a little deeper into the countryside about a 5 minute drive from my home, called "Pilgrims Rest" Tea Gardens at the "Crest Community Centre", situated in a little country village called Chrestholme which lies amongst the rambling green Hills of Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa.

It has the most awesome views over looking "The Valley of a Thousand Hills" and the "Inanda Dam" (Inanda means) (Pleasant Place) in English.

It sure is a very pleasant place to chill out and catch one's breath, after a stressful week in the hustle and bustle of City life.

We visited the tea garden with our amazing buddies, Lizelle and Arthur, on a slightly misty day...I must say, that didn't hinder the ambience of the place at all.

The Heartstrings Community Project, is a non profit organization run by amazing people who have a great heart for the poor communities in the surrounding areas.

The garden is adorned with shady Wild Fig trees where one can sit in peace and quiet, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the birds singing, unravelling those wound up nerves.

There's even a corner for the little people to enjoy the fresh air and awesome views.

The scent from the different indigenous shrubs and herbs in the garden, and the feel of the soft mist against one's face, is so invigorating...just the awesomeness of this peaceful place is uplifting for the soul.

The little nursery set in a corner of the garden, displaying different types of indigenous shrubs and plants for sale for the avid gardener.

I had my eye on these beautiful Arum Lilies adorning the corner of the nursery with their amazing green leaves and colorful flowers.

little shops and nursery.jpg

The clouds came over and it looked like rain, so we made our way along the garden path to The Coffee Shop, which was up stairs in the old stone house.

old house.jpg
I think the house was built in the early 1800's and was the original Farm House.
A beautiful piece of history.

The wooden floors still intact and well maintained, one could smell the aroma of freshly made coffee through out the old house.

corner.jpg
There's a cozy corner in every nook of the house to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and admire the magnificent views.

fitting room 2.jpg
A thrift shop to browse through for anything that catches your fancy, even a change room that dates back a few centuries, I love the old wooden door.

coffee shop.jpg
I counted at least four little coffee shops on the property to sit and enjoy a sandwich and coffee, or just relax and gather one's thoughts, or read a book.

beatiful views.jpg
No matter where one sits in the garden, one can enjoy the amazing view.

view 2.jpg
I would love to go back with my laptop and blog away, or just sit and meditate, just me alone, and finish my book I'm writing Lol!
The peace and quiet is just incredible.

We sat upstairs on the deck over looking the Dam below, and ordered toasted sandwiches with freshly grounded coffee.

The toasted sandwich was deliciously made with sour dough and fresh herbs from the garden.

cats.jpg
On our way out, we came across two friendly cats, I did look for Dande-Lion but...alas didn't see him Lol!

beatiful views.jpg
We took one last look at the beautiful view before making our way back to the car.

pilgrims rest.jpg
What an awesome peaceful place to unwind and forget your worries and woes.

marci.jpg
There's even a Marci for those special occasions out in the garden, placed on the green lush lawns.

ostriches.jpg
I only noticed the ostrich sculptures amongst the Irises in the entrance of the property as we were driving out, I had to stop and take a picture.

Well my dear gardening friends, I thought I'd share another garden with a difference. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did sharing with you.

Until next time, Happy gardening.

I really love to have a coffee in that kind of place. Those chirping of the birds would be relaxing to my soul as I savor the flavor of my coffee.

Thanks for sharing this one.😊

Your not kidding, that is beautiful! I am sure this is not what many people, including myself think about when they think of Africa. :)

Than you @jonyoudyer South Africa is a very beautiful place, unfortunately it's going down hill very fast because of corruption and miss management, my heart is very sore. But, I will remain optimistic, I have hope it will turn around.
Thanks for passing by.
