Last stop at the "Blue Peter"

I would like to take you on a tour to the "Blue Peter", and share my experience there with you.

A couple of months back, Hubby and I visited my daughter in Cape Town, the West Coast of South Africa.

After spending some time traveling around the West Coast, sighting out some amazing places around Cape Town, it was time to pack and start heading back home to the Green Hills of Natal, Durban Kwa Zulu Natal.

On our way back to the airport, we stopped at the Blue Peter in Bloubergstrand.

The Blue Peter is one of the oldest sites in Bloubergstrand, dating back to the 19th century.
A Harbor official by the name of George Henry Stevenson and his wife, ran a tearoom where the Hotel stands today,. which was called the "Springbok Café" back in those days.

I was curious to know where the name "Blue Peter" came from ,and was told that the "Blue Peter" is actually the name of a single naval flag, flown by ships as they prepared to leave port.

The views from the top floor, are absolutely beautiful, over looking the Atlantic Ocean with Table Mountain in the back ground.

South Africans, being outdoor people, loving the fresh air and sunshine, the Hotel caters for casual outside enjoyment with tables on the lawn and an outside pub.

The restaurant up stairs has more formal dining with an excellent menu with a great selection of South African cuisine, from salads, seafood to pizza and a whole lot more delicious food to satisfy the huger pangs, or just chill with an ice cold beer in the pub.

The reception area is beautifully decorated with paintings of the old light house and table mountain, Cape Town's most famous land mark.

We sat in the waiting room upstairs, passing some time before our departure, where we had coffee while the men had beer of course.

It's always sad to say good by to my children in Cape Town, Omg!...that's life I suppose...but, we'll see them soon again I'm sure.

The weather in Cape Town around June, the winter months, is quite wet and windy and can be bitterly cold.

Come rain, wind or sunshine, Cape Town is my favorite place in South Africa, there's so much to see and do there, long enough, is just not long enough for me...if you know what I mean Lol!

One last look over the ocean, before we head off to the airport.

I'll be back soon I'm bloody sure about that, Hehe!

That was the end of my trip, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed sharing with you.

Until next time, enjoy travelling, keep safe and stay healthy.
