Journey to A Hill Station
Today I am travelling to a nearby Hill Station named Kalimpong. Kalimpong is a Hill Station located in the foothills of the Himalayas and just above the Teesta River and today I am visiting this place with my lovely wife to have some Recreational Time even if that is for a single day. The route to Kalimpong was recently damaged as there was a flood in the Teesta River and currently construction is back again in full force so there was a lot of dust and not a lot of places to just take a couple of pictures but on the way we did take a Good Stop and have some Momos.
It was a Veg Momo Plate and even though my Wife doesn't like Veggie Momos she loved it as she also took another plate later on. That sounds like my Wife loved her very first Veg Momos. Anyways it took us approximately two and a half hours to reach our Hotel which was the Mayfair Spa and Resort Kalimpong.
The Property was just spectacular and I will showcase the property in future posts but I want to emphasize that I got this 5 Star Luxury Resort for two people with Breakfast and Dinner Buffet at a nominal price of 1300 INR. Yes, I did apply for some coupons and I had to pay for my Lunch as it was not complimentary with my Suite. But the food was just spectacular.
For Lunch, we ordered a Starter named Paneer Nazhakhat which was suggested to us by the Waiter, and of course, some Chicken Biryani which was served to us with some Raita and Salad. Both the Starter and Chicken Biryani were simply Delicious and especially the Biryani was made in a peculiar way which theoretically doesn't work for me but they managed to make every grain of rice infused with flavours. Fortunately for us we were late for Lunch which means we were the only ones in the Restaurant and the Chef paid us a visit and we had a decent chat and he was ok with teaching my Wife the recipe for the Paneer Nazhakhat Starter. So hopefully I get to enjoy the same dish in the comfort of my home later down the road.
Needless to say I had very high expectations from their Restaurant as the Lunch was pretty awesome.
