The Annapoorna Hotel

Today we visited a new Hotel for Lunch and it was all the way in Coochbehar City which is approximately 125 kilometres away from my home. The reason for such a long travel is not just for food as we did have some work closeby and that triggered us to lookout for local hotels that were famous in the area, and we came across The Annapoorna Hotel which was highly recommended by a lot of my friends and colleagues. But there was a problem when we were trying to locate the Hotel as it was nowhere to be found even when we asked the locals we were just spinning around in circles. But it was after circling thrice that we saw that the hotel was being rebuilt and they were operating with a backdoor entrance.

The interior of the Hotel was nothing that special and was very minimilastic which I appreciate and the menu card was pretty well written as it did not have a lot of items so that they can focus on individual dishes and make them taste good.

As for our food we ordered their Veg Thali which had around three sabjis, rice , dal , salad and some fries as well. We also ordered a dish called the Dhokar Dalna which was simply finger licking good, it was so good that I literally forgot to take a photo of the Dish.

But as you can see the Veg Thali looked absolutely amazing. It was not Rich with Oil and was a perfectly Home Cooked Meal which had the best taste of every single vegetable used. My colleague was very happy with the meal as well but he really wanted to try out their Non Veg Section but as it was a Saturday Non Veg was not available so we settled for the Veg option.

They also had their Desert Section where they had made Pithas which are a local Bengali Desert that is mainly made during Sankranti Festival. But we opted out of this desert as it had the possibility of making our stomach a little upset and since we had a 200 kilometres journey ahead of us we thought it was better to stay away from those Deserts. But they really looked delicious.

Anyways we will most definitely visit that Hotel again in Future to tryout their Non Veg Thalis as they are quite famous as well.
