First Time Participating Mathematic Competition

Hi, I am Arveno from Surabaya city. in this content i want to share about my boy of course. This time i am sign up my boy for Math competition. As far ass i know he never participating any open competition before. He just participating competition in his class from his school event. And since my sister in law forcing my wife to sign up my son to participate then my wife said lets do it. When i asking my son did he want to join this competition, he is very excited and want to join especially his cousin join too. My nephew is 1 year old below my son. But, i can say that they are in the same age. And my nephew is bigger than my son. And more reckless,naughty,and maybe smarter. Opposite with my son that very care, cautious,timid, and indifferent.

This competition held near my house in my hometown and my son still categorized as kindergarten group.

First, my son need registration first and paid up 2$ for entry fee. It is like Entering tournament on the games that i played called Splinterlands. BUt, i dont know this competition prize will be money. Actually i am really blind about this competition. I really dont care if my son win or not. What i focusing is i need to know that my son have courage and self confident or not.

Compared with mall in big city,this mall is kinda creepy and abandoned. But, for the starter i think this is really great movement. Because i will said to my son, just enjoy your competition. If you think this will make him excited, i will signing him up again in another competition. But, if he does not excited at all at least he know how the feels being in competition.

After registration complete, he need to waiting up and listen what the rules in this competition and all parents need to listening when to pick up the kids and when to attending and waiting the winner announcement.

At first he was excited with this competition. But, after listening some words and the competition is not yet started, he started to bored with all the welcoming word from MC.

Then the competition started. I though this competition will be the fastest thinker and the right one or something like that. But it turns out that the competition is just do the questions like he did in the school. And the level is like what he face daily when in the kindergarten. What i am afraid is he is like me. Sometimes when the competition is not too exciting, we are tend to underestimate and doing with lazy.

At first, he is doing pretty well. But, as usual my son is included in the slow category. Thats why in this competition too, he is doing slowly.
And right now i know where the bad side of my son in this competition. He is having same habbit like my wife. He cannot be rushed. Otherwise after got rushed he will confused and doing some reckless and cannot thinking clearly. And yeah he cannot do it perfectly and cannot get the podium this time. But, just 3 false out of 15 questions is kinda great i think. Maybe i will teaching him how to calming the mind if the situation worsened and need to be rushed.

After the competition end, all of participant get pictured for the memories of the event. And then we waiting for the announcement later. And i am just hanging out with my wife while my brother that waiting the announce.

One think is at least my son happy and still cheering even though he did not winning anything. But hey at least he got participant trophy. Even though i believe my son did not like with this trophy. And whats funny is when my mother asking my son how was the competition. It turns out that my son that cheering my mom and said it is okay if he cannot winning the competition. this is his first time try it and it is reasonable if he did not winning this time. I guess it should be him got cheering from my mom not the other way around right.
